Is that too much to ask of someone who aspires to be one of 100 people out of 300 million in the country to serve in the United States Senate?
No, it's not too much to ask in normal situations.
These, however, are not normal situations.
Political campaigns never are, as you should know.

You’re right, these are not normal situations, these are desperate times, which is even more imperative that we send our best, and he’s demonstrated that he’s clearly not among them.
To: Truthsearcher
Elizabeth Warren is a perfect example of elections not being "normal" situations.
Would she ever have become known as Fauxcahontis if she hadn't made a mistake during a political campaign?

Where is the "media firestorm" from that? Where is the hue and cry for Warren to "step down" for her outrageous and egregious "misstatement"?
Some people are so gullible!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA...you're killing me!
If those two are the best examples of the Republican's "best" then I can't help but laugh.

Again, you want to debate what’s fair, or do you want to deal with reality and how to win this war?
Warren is in Massachusetts, she’ll probably win despite everything. Which only makes it even more imperative that we win in Missouri. Now ask yourself this, of all the potential replacement for Akin, are they likely to do better or worse than Akin would in Nov given what has happened?
To: philman_36
So you want to lose the senator race in Missouri because you’re ticked off at Romney?
To: Truthsearcher
Again, you want to debate whats fair, or do you want to deal with reality and how to win this war? This "war" will never
be won. There is only going to be a series of battles.
Four years from now we'll be in the
same "war" and new battles will be engaged in then. All you can do is win battles
in this war.
Seems like you need to deal with
that reality first before we can have any debate.
When generals don't step up and rally the troops after one junior officer issues a wrong command in the middle of a battle then you've lost that battle.
Who is leading in this battle? The generals or the privates? Sounds like the privates are to me and they're all yelling...Retreat!

I made a comment as to how ludicrous your comment about how "our best" should be sent in.
Where have I indicated in any fashion that I would like to see a Republican loss for that Senate seat?

If Akin remains in the race, he will most likely lose, and all the contemplated replacements for him have a better chance to win than he does. So why do you want him to stay in the race?
To: Truthsearcher
...because youre ticked off at Romney?BTW, I
disagree with Romney, I'm not "ticked off"
at Romney.
Nice try at trying to frame the argument.

Rallying the soldiers doesn’t mean you don’t replace the incompetent officer.
Did Lincoln stick with McClellan or did he replace him with Grant?
To: Truthsearcher
If Akin remains in the race, he will most likely lose...Yes, he might lose. Then again, people in his State may rally around him and he might win. The future can't be known in this instance.
...and all the contemplated replacements for him have a better chance to win than he does.
And how, pray tell, do you know that? Where are the polls? Where is the evidence? At this point all you've got is supposition, not knowledge or evidence.

I’m not the one who brought up Romney. Romney is not relevant to this discussion, nor is Warren (which by the way was also brought up by you, not me).
The only issue at hand is Todd Akin, who sabotaged his own candidacy over the weekend, and what should be done about it. There are two option, watch him go down in flames over the next 3 months, or replace him while there is still a chance. I’m going with option 2.
To: Truthsearcher
Did Lincoln stick with McClellan or did he replace him with Grant?
Neither of those men were junior officers at that time so your comparison is invalid.

In your opinion there are two options. In my opinion there are far more than just 2 options.

Oh, and Lincoln was never on the field of battle so he couldn't rally squat when he was miles away from the battle and only heard about such battles days after the fact.

This is your statement...
...and all the contemplated replacements for him have a better chance to win than he does.Your poll doesn't support your claim.
Honestly, if you cant see the handwriting on the wall.
First sentence.
There is not much I can do for you.
Second sentence.
Sense made from those two separate sentences? None.
I mean, I could point you to this...
Respondents not reachable on a home telephone (24% of adults) were shown, on their smartphone or other electronic device this video of Akin speaking.
And I can point out to you the nine second clip that your poll was based upon.
I can also point out that the poll was not even conducted with likely voters.
SurveyUSA interviewed 500 state of Missouri adults 08/20/12, after comments made by Todd Akin were made public on 08/19/12.
500 people out of a State of millions. WOW!
...Im sure your mind is made up and youll just declare the poll rigged.
Your mind reading skills are lacking.
