The middle class is dead in CA. CA resembles many Latin American countries where you see a small elite composed of politicos, corporate cronies, and top bureaucrats. What is left of the middle class consists primarily of government workers. The lower classes are the illegals, welfare dependents, and low wage workers.
Revenue generation mostly depends on the corporations that were once innovative start ups. Eventually, they will ossify and seize up when faced with leaner competition from other states and abroad.
