(groan) “Republican” is the name of a political party; “libertarian” is the name of a political ideology. Contrasting libertarians and “Republicans” is a nonsense argument, just like contrasting libertarians and “Democrats”, but what do you want from a college professor.

There are “Libertarians” and “libertarians”.

I flirted with small “L” libertarianism when I was young. Until I found out more about the Libertarian Party and some of their platform issues.

The result of a little study left me cold.

Meaning of words change over time with inappropriate use.

Example: Liberal

In the 1770’s a Liberal was an Anti-Statist Anti-Monarchist.

In this day a “Liberal’ is a Marxist/Fascist Statist. No Liberty is involved in that.

Welcome to Post 1984. Classic doublespeak.

I stated this the day Obozo was coronated.

“Where the law of the jungle has replaced the Law of the Land”
