I believe he turned away from her as he considered how it would look to his Muslim brotherhood and friends in distant lands. This follow-up, I'm sure, is to make others cower at a claimed inflaming "black anger," which as been pointed out, is probably anything but a significant factor.

Countervaling to black anger is all the cheering the rest of us have been doing to see someone--as opposed to wimpy Congress-types--standing up to Zero and seeing him back down. That's probably the more significant reaction and would work to deepen Barry's negatives.
