Actually, I had the distinct impression he stole whole sections of speeches by Santorum, Gingrich, and Romney.

He kept going on about bringing jobs home from overseas, about tax cuts, about opening up the coast to offshore drilling.

I seem to remember he did that a couple of years ago; he announced he was opening the coastlines to offshore drilling. Then with his other hand, he took it back. Gave permission for offshore Alaska, and then with the other hand took it back.

Spent the first half of his speech offering tax breaks to companies that do the right thing and the second half bashing rich folks for their tax breaks.

Of course, he’s upset that Buffet’s secretary pays a higher tax rate than her boss, but he didn’t actually offer to lower her taxes.

Classic Obama.

Many will pick foodstamps over paychecks. Then they will be jealous over their neighbors who chose paychecks and started making the climb into prosperity. We need to be "draconian" with those who choose to live off the taxpayers' teat and give them basic sustenance and nothing more. Severely limit what foodstamps will buy, have a name stamped on them and require ID to redeem them. If they are on the dole for more than 6 months, no TV or stereo (confiscate and sell to suplement the program. Once a year is reached, no computer/phone. If they hit 18 months and have no prospects, take everything away from them and instead of housing units, put them in communes with limited facilities (no entertainment) and only a modicum of climate control and insist they keep it up themselves as anything that gets destroyed will stay that way for at least 6 months.

Until it becomes a hassle and a stigma again, foodstamps will be the choice of many.
