(CBS News) Pastor Joel Osteen, one of America's most popular religious figures, said on "CBS This Morning" that GOP candidate Mitt Romney believes in Jesus like he does.
"What I see about Governor Romney is that he says, 'I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, he's raised from the dead and he's my savior.' I see him as being a believer in Christ, like me."
Charlie Rose said, "That's enough for you?"
"That's enough for me," Osteen said. "There's differences in all religion. I realize Mormonism is different from Christianity, but you know what, he's a man of faith and values. And to me, that's strong."

How strange that you keep spittling forth on these threads yet whine of your disgust at FR for having opposing voices to your mormonISM. Are you sure you want to be at Freerepublic since it is no longer what you demand from it?
Just because people twist Jesus into something he isn’t, it doesn’t mean He is going to become what they want. The person Jesus isn’t changed by gossip.
Where in the Bible does it specifically say that Mormons are not Christians? Anyone who has read the Book of Mormon knows that Jesus Christ is the central figure of that book. Now if you want to say that you and Mormons have different opinions about Jesus Christ and the gospel then that’s understandable. But to call them non-Christians is frankly IMO bearing false witness and very judgmental.
Hey Sandra, why don’t you share your “Marry Me Mitt” video with everyone again?
Take your Romney spinning and shove it Saundra. Nobody is buying it.
Your whining about this is boring.
You post this junk then complain that people expose mormonISM.
It does feed into your personal paranoia however.
Jesus Christ claimed to be God, the Creator of the cosmos, the one and only way by which we can enter into Heaven. These are high claims!
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 8:12: Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I AM the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." When Jesus said, "I am the Aleph and the Tav," He was saying I am the Word, (or logos, written Word) that was in the beginning. In the first line of the Torah, in the first line of the first verse in Genesis, He was there with God! He was in the beginning and all things were created through Him.
Do you believe that the Jesus you profess is indeed the same as the God who created the world?
How can anybody who knows his bible watch Osteen and not know he (at the least) does not know his bible, and the worst, is intentionally misleading folks with his “health and wealth” gospel?
Is the Gospel “health and wealth”? Well? Is it?
If you watched the Larry King interview, he couldn’t even stumble over basic biblical doctrine when asked.
But he sure can “inspire”.
Islam also refers to Christ.
I listened to osteen for awhile but something started to feel not so right. Then I watched him on a couple of talk shows. He WOULD NOT definitively take a stand on any Christian principles. He danced around and chucked and jived. Many people died as martyrs for taking a stand. The very least he could have done was take a stand for the Bible on the joy Behr show. He absolutey lost me after that.
It is interesting (interesting...that's all) that the AntiChrist will survive a fatal wound...and, as you may know, Romney, in his auto accident in France, wasn't taken to the hospital right away because he was thought to be dead.
Coincidence?;-)
I’ve seen Osteen’s show a few times. Never once have I seen him criticize (let alone condemn) the beliefs of others. Perhaps he’s reserving that right for a higher power.
As far as I can tell the Bible does not say that God the Father did not have physical sex with the virgin Mary.
As far as I can tell the Bible does not say that blacks and Native Americans were not cursed with dark skin.
As far as I can tell the Bible does not say that “exaltation” to different levels of heaven based on works in this life is not possible.
As far as I can tell the Bible does not say that Jesus Christ will not return to Missouri.
One thing I’ve learned in life is that many people will interpret the Bible to mean what they want it to mean. Many such people will think that their interpretation is the only correct interpretation and that by the authority of their opinion that everyone else who disagrees with them is wrong.
By what authority to do interpret Christianity to mean what you say it means that Mormons aren’t Christians? I’m just curious. I’m certainly not going to be a vicious hateful person over this. I’d prefer to turn the other cheek if necessary.

Ooops double-submittal posting. Please ignore #77 as it was submitted too soon and didn’t make grammatical sense. Of course I assume that some will intepret everything I wrote as not making bibical sense. That’s their right as Americans having freedom of religion :)
