>>That’s must be what the country-clubbers are aiming at: A “respectable loss” so that Mr. Obama is given a free hand for another four years. Nothing else makes sense.
Exactly. The economy is in free-fall, with nothing but credit paying the bills. The country club wing of the GOP wants to retain their personal wealth and power. They already have their offshore bank accounts in place to shelter their wealth when the bubble bursts and the “common people” are left with nothing. They sure don’t want to be in charge of the country when that occurs. They trust Obama to set up the communist system that will give the little people some work and a roof and some food so they don’t riot too much.
If you like what Obama is doing, but it is happening too fast for you,
you’ll absolutely LOVE RINOmney!
He will get you there at a pace you can enjoy as you boil...
Romney: I save the Olympic games.
Obama: I saved the US from the brink of ecomonic diaster.
Obama: I supported TARP,I pretended to be against Gay Marriage, I am Pro-choice, and I believe in Government Bailouts.
Romney: Me too! I know who I am voting for and its Barack Hussein Obama..mmm mmm mmm.
A “respectable loss”? Winning might not be everything, but losing isn’t ANYTHING.
Losing is what losers do. Don’t know what the business model is for that, but it cannot pay very well. In fact, the whole concept seems to be on the level of playing a board game, or at most, a gentleman’s athletic competition.
America’s future is a WAY more serious proposition than winning or losing a tennis match or a bowling tournament.
We HAVE to have an interesting headliner on the ticket, to pull along all the Congressional districts and Senatorial contests that could in any way be marginal. Once we have that assurance, the real fight is still ahead, as there is still some reluctance about “taking down” another’s legacy.
But the mischief these “legacies” visit upon our nation and our capability to meet future challenges are just the things that HAVE to be dismantled.
Is Mitt Romney the person to do this? I do not see him as the inspiring leader we need so desperately in the near term, and he is likely just as corrosive to liberty and freedom as Obama is sure to be and has been already.
Pray for a brokered convention. That way, we have the opportunity to DRAFT the person who was reluctant to step into the race at the beginning, but is sharply outspoken against the abuses we are suffering now both within our country and in the world at wide.
Thank goodness our GOP Overlords have annointed Romney. What could go wrong after they backed Poppa Bush, Dole and Mccain?
I commented on an NRO thread on some other writer who was having second thoughts as well. What were these guys thinking? Romney has to run as Obama-Lite because of his past, so he is a guaranteed loser. The Elite will be tarred and feathered along with Romney’s political corpse.
They are getting buyer’s remorse now that they’ve got what they wished for.
The country-clubbers are the least of our worries.
Globalsim v. Anti-Globalism (Global Social Justice).
It is all about money and power.
Gov.Romney is the candidate for the elitist Republicans Globalism, and President Obama is the champion of the Global Social Justice league (communism in another of its many aspects).
Per Wikipedia: Globalism can have at least two different and opposing meanings. One meaning is the attitude or policy of placing the interests of the entire world above those of individual nations. Another is viewing the entire world as a proper sphere for one nation to project political influence.
The Republicans, and Wall Street, have combined the two definitions in an attempt to dominate international commerce and the monetary structure, and establish a New World Order for establishing that control. This is neither conservative nor liberal in orientation.
Who is their rival, trying to subvert and seize control themselves and alter the eventual structure and purpose of this New World Order?
The Global Justice Movement, or, I guess you could say, Communism all grown-up and combined with the quest for an Islamic Caliphate brought about through the United Nations. (Both are antagonists, and eventually will try to destroy one another). BHO2 is the movement’s puppet. Leo Gerard, via the International Labor Unions (plus Russia, perhaps?), is one of the puppet masters and together are the driving force behind this group as it stands now.
These two groups are struggling to see who controls the U.S. government because it is in the way of establishing a New World Order. What that NWO will finally look like, fascist or Marxist/Islamic, is still up in the air.
Mind you, I’ve distilled the scenario down to its molecular level, so to speak, though there are many different groups playing minor roles in this struggle. And it is a struggle with the results to yield dire results for the U.S. if Conservatives don’t choose the right champion for the American people.
Neither group gives a damn about the rights of individuals. The common man, or woman, on the street is just a unit to be taxed or obliterated, it matters not to them.
And when someone like Newt Gingrich has the temerity to pop-up and challenge both groups, both go ballistic.
The last thing that either group wants is for conservatives with Bibles and guns asserting their God-given rights and demanding that Washington, D.C., changes how it does business.
Ta-da.
As Groucho used to say: “Say the magic word, the duck flies down and you win a hundred dollars.”
The magic word(s) for today are “respectable loss.”
The duck just flew down.
Thanks to the Fed, there’s no money for your prize.

Romney is to liberal to draw the necessary distinctions to beat Obama. We need to clarify those differences, not blur them.
The three big Republican wins of recent memory are 1980, 1994, and 2010. In each case, the Republicans (for the most part) ran as unabashed conservatives. When they run go-along, get along “moderates” like Dole or McCain, they lose. (”Moderate is a base-stealing word for liberal Republicans.” — William F. Buckley Jr.)
And the “moderates” aren’t good for the candidates down-ballot either. If you want more conservatives in Congress, you need conservatives at the top of the ticket. Go for principle and go for the coattails.
Romney’s assignment is to lose the election a la McCain and Dole, neither of whom actually ran campaigns as if they wanted the job.
