The primarys on Saturday the 21st. Hes promising to endorse on Thursday the 19th at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, which happens to be hosting a presidential debate that same day. Hes timing it for maximum impact, in other words, right down to his choice of which primary to target: As a Georgia native, he might have a bit more sway over voters in SC than he would have had over Iowans, assuming he has any sway left over anyone.
Question: Who would value his endorsement the most? Perrys desperate for positive buzz of any kind but Cains already ruled him and Ron Paul out. Huntsman would kill for some southern cred before the big vote but hes guaranteed to be a longshot in SC. Why waste an endorsement on him if youre Cain? The choice is between Romney, whom he endorsed four years ago, Santorum, and his buddy Newt. If he backs Romney, he gets the thanks of a likely nominee and possible future president for giving him a shot of grassroots appeal before the big vote. If he backs Santorum and Santorum pulls the upset, he gets to say he played conservative kingmaker (rightly or wrongly). Same is true if he backs Newt and Newt ends up edging out Santorum, and Newt would be especially grateful both for Cains vote of confidence and for the loyal friendship. I assume hell end up going with Romney, just because thats his best bet to maximize leverage for his new movement going forward. Exit question: What does he mean by unconventional?
I don’t think he’s endorsing anyone in the race because that’s not unconventional. He might be calling on someone who’s not in the race to get in and endorse that campaign. OR he’s endorsing 0bama, or a third party. THAT would be unconventional coming from a card-carrying Republican. OR, he and Bachmann are getting back in as running mates, getting funding from a conservative benefactor, at their urging.
Wouldn’t that make him the hero of the press? He’d be sure to get his own MSNBC show then.
I bet he’ll endorse Sarah Palin - she’s used the word ‘unconventional’ numerous times in the past 4 months, eluding to something, well, unconventional going to happen...
Just throwing it out there for the PDS’rs to get in a tizzy :)
Hell they would kick Chrissie to the sidelines and put him into his Hardball slot .
Yes pun intended.
BTW, Bristol moved back home to Wasilla and is now living in the lower level of the Palin’s TV studio...
Herman who?
Maybe the great tease in getting in - Palin?
How unusual in this economy for a young adult to move back in with their parents...
Pregnant again?
He will endorse himself reentering the race with Sarah Palin as VP :-D
It would have zero impact with me.
He quit, he shouldget out of the way and let Americans decide for themselves. He should endorse the party candidate, the winner after all of the primary’s.

The weed is that strong in Georgia?
Needin' a zot, troll?
Cain has about as much influence as McCain, IMO.
Nein, nein, nein. Go away, Herman.
Cain simply isn’t relevant. He’s always announcing he will make an announcement.
I supported Cain and I'm still sorry he dropped out. But he did drop out and his attempts to remain relevant are lowering him in my esteem. I don't care a bit about his endorsement.
I like him for him; I don't believe his judgement of the other candidates, though, is any better than mine.
But heap on the anchovies >(9-9-9!
