This was another "direct democracy" ballot initiative. The Marxists have learned how to pass nearly any initiative by tapping into union funds to create saturation TV campaigns that tell outright, blatant lies.
With a little more of that "direct democracy," the public employee unions will soon "own" a majority of CA Democrat Congressmen the same way they already own many state legislators. The politicians do the unions' bidding in exchange for campaign contributions. One hand washes the other and the taxpaying public gets screwed. Unfortunately many of those same taxpayers are stupid enough to vote for the initiatives.
Florida had this problem where BS things to change law in the Florida constitution were getting on the ballot (i.e. size of pig pens).
So we passed a constitutional amendment that requires 60% vote to pass future constitutional amendments. It was really quite funny :)
