>> The thing is, I don’t just want Obama defeated, I want him destroyed and humiliated. I want this myth that Obama is “brilliant” shattered into a million pieces, and Gingrich is just the man to do it. >>

Not only Obama humiliated and destroyed, but his whole Occupy Wall street vision destroyed with it!!!! This is exactly why I support Newt as well. This is more important than anything else, a total discrediting of the liberal view of America.

So the reason I want Newt, in spite of his flaws - is that he is clearly the best at doing this and in fact the only one in the field who can. Bachamm and her over the top attacks - if tried against Obama - will totally discredit our side.

Newt’s attacks don’t have to be over the top. He is simply gifted at what has become a very important skill set in our modern political arena. Yes, talking the talk is now more important than walking the walk when it comes to President. Because like it or not, what President’s say is far more important than what they do.

>> Michelle Bachmann seems like a robot who only has two settings: Stupid and Nagging >>

And is it just me, or does she attract supporters who are exactly like that too? I know a lot of folks like this from Christian circles - and God bless them they are great folks - but they are humorless, prudish and put a huge premium in falling on their swords in defeat rather than success. Too heavenly minded to be any earthly good, and so on. She and her supporters just remind me of these folks.

Gingrich is done.

He is crashing in every poll and the odds of him getting the nomination are down to 16.6% on Intrade.

Ok, so now you’re repeating Rosie O’Donnell’s slander

Everyone needs to be vetted. But, as my wife always says: “Time tells all.” But, it’s all a moot point. She’s toast and will NOT be the GOP nominee. I started out liking her but she has done more to destroy the GOP’s chances in 2012 than anyone. She has beaten, bloodied, and broken almost every candidate for Obozo to finish off in November 2012. She helped drive Pawlenty and Cain from the race and is trying to do the same to Gingrich but she’s in a losing battle. She’s not even in the same league with Newt Gingrich. She’s a “Desperate Housewife”. Five years in the House of Representatives, one of which she has spent running for President instead of doing the job the taxpayers pay her to do, and she thinks she’s ready to be the leader of the Free World? Give me a friggin’ break.

This idiot is Romney ‘s attack dog and nothing more.
She viciously and recklessly tries to trashes any option by Mittens .
She trashed Perry,Cain, and now Newt with such destructive hate because Ronney wants to appear above it all.

She is beyond damaged goods and may lose her seat in congress since we will never give her another fine after trashing if fellow .
She has hurt our chances to defeat the Marxist Muslim in 2012

"Michele Bachmann has damaged the considerable goodwill she brought into this campaign, with her scorched earth attacks on Gingrich. ...big snip... This says a lot about her readiness to compete nationally for the presidency."

Well said, extremely well said...

A lot of Bachmann envy here.

Probably closet Romney supporters pretending to be for Newt.

Newt knocks everyone else out but Mittens, then walks away and goes back to lobbying.

I wonder how much his “historian consulting fee” will be.

I’m a consultant; civilians don’t know how it works.

I have to admit, after several months of not really being committal, I’ve finally settled on Newt.

He’s the only one who’s actually been taking the fight to Obama and the Dems.

He’s smart as a whip, and knows how to use it.

He’s had his mistakes - but what candidate hasn’t? For every tubthumper who wants to tell me that Newt sat on a couch with Nancy Pelosi, I can turn right around and tell you something bad about their candidate - including Sarah Palin (even though she’s not a candidate, some still *act* like she is nevertheless).

Something somebody on here the other day pointed out really made sense: it was only *after* Newt was deposed as Speaker that the GOP in Congress started to lose its way. Before that, he was actually doing a good job of keeping Republican congressmen on task. It seems that the overthrow of Newt, far from being because he wasn’t conservative enough, was because he was TOO conservative - and the establishment types didn’t like it.

Lol. Compared to Bachmann’s 1.6%? Yes, she’s sure to surge any time soon now…

I like that she pointed out Newt/Romney-TARP/HealthSCare/ect difference. She has been great about opposing liberal ideas as a member of the House.

This idiot is nothing more than Romney’s attack dog and has done serious damage to the GOP chances in 2012.
Her role is to split the conservative vote and
Smear any one in the Mittens way.

Al Gore crushed Newt in Lincoln-Douglas style debate. Newt has glass jaw so I would not count debates.

Besides, debates rarely affect outcome. See GWB.

Yeah, she does. Of course, I have to admit that I'm not impressed with a LOT of candidates' supporters here on FR. FR seems full of humourless, "my candidate or we're all going to hell" types who are absolutely convinced that if their particular candidate doesn't win the nomination, then all hope is lost, everybody else is a stinkin' RINO for not voting for their candidate, and are a bunch of idiots besides.

Whatever happened to honest disagreement, people? Why does everybody who prefers another candidate to your own have to be either stupid, a RINO, or bought and paid for by their candidate's campaign?

No, you are WRONG.

Bachmann has told several lies and stretched the truth during her campaign. “Fact Check” which you love to use, it where that proof can be found. She also stretched her lie about Gingrich, by adding in a few of her own, with several “other than factual claims”. (As follows)

Bachmann’s Inflated Jobs Claim

Bachmann criticized President Obama’s decision to delay the Keystone XL oil pipeline, saying the president’s efforts to appease “radical environmentalists” came at the expense of building a pipeline “that would have brought at least 20,000 jobs.” But that jobs figure is inflated.

That jobs estimate — widely cited by proponents of the pipeline — comes from a report commissioned by the company pushing the pipeline, and it is based on “person-year” jobs, the equivalent of one full-time job for one year. If the same person works the same job for two years, it is counted as two person-year jobs. The State Department in August estimated the number of direct jobs created by the Keystone pipeline at a much more modest 5,000 to 6,000.

Last month, FactCheck.org corrected Bachmann’s claim in a Nov. 22 debate that President Obama had “canceled” the oil pipeline from Canada. In fact, the Keystone XL pipeline extension has been delayed, not canceled, to give the government time to review an alternative route proposed to avoid Nebraska’s sensitive Sandhills area.

In making her pitch during the Fox News debate for immediate approval of the pipeline, which would extend from Canada to the Gulf Coast, Bachmann cited job creation figures that have been used frequently by proponents of the pipeline.

Alex Pourbaix, president of Energy and Oil Pipelines for TransCanada Corp., the company proposing the pipeline, cited the 20,000 jobs figure in testimony before a House subcommittee on energy and power on Dec. 2.
