For some reason, I seem to be one of only a handful of people in the blogosphere that comprehend that most of the Republican candidates' tax proposals will just as quickly raise the number of non-taxpaying voters as the Democrats will.

We're at 47% now. What will America be like when it goes to 55% under a GOP tax cutting plan?

The country has a bigger job problem than a tax problem. Get the 25 million un/underemployed back on the full-time payroll and they will be paying taxes.

How to Guarantee a Democratic Majority in Congress Forever:

Immigration

The immigration policy of the United States since 1965 has created the mess we now have. It would have been impossible for Obama to be POTUS without the demographic changes that have occurred in the United States over the past 45 years. All of this was brought about by demographic changes that are as a result of the US changing their immigration policies since 1965(thanks Ted Kennedy & Democrats). This is the root cause of the problem. Everything else is detail. California is a permanent democrat state today as a result of this stupidity. Prior to 1965 and for a decade or so after, Republicans had a strong presence in California. No more. No matter how good a Republican Candidate is, it's impossible for he/she to win in a statewide election. I've looked closely at the breakdown of the major elections over the past 25 years and the evidence that immigration is making California a one party state is obvious to even a dim wit like Ben Wattenburg (Mr. Immigration is good for us).

These facts are obviously not lost on the Democrat Party. This is why they are not interested in the least in doing anything about Illegal Immigration or Immigration in general. It suits them just fine if the country becomes a one party country. In fact, that's what they desire. It's their goal. All this other stuff about taxes and such misses the major point. No matter how bad things get a larger and larger group of people are gonna push the D-Button no matter what. Unemployment could be 30% in California, inflation could be 50% per year and California is gonna vote Democratic. It's the demographics stupid.

Let’s be blunt, for the 47% that doesn’t pay anything now, it’s a tax increase. But we’ve got to do it. The alternative is just unacceptable.

AMEN and AMEN!

If I were a Dem, I would distill this message into 3 words - “Tax the Poor.” But I am not a Dem and yet I have been sayng those 3 words for years now, it ALWAYS produces a reaction that alllows me to explain the concept properly.

Fabian-Socialist/Progressive George Bernard Shaw said “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”

The problem here is profound: once you start giving money to part of the population, and letting them pay no taxes, THEY ARE NEVER AGAIN GOING TO WANT TO PAY TAXES.

You cannot return to a previous state/condition.

Yes, they need to be taxed. No question.

But to think that once they are taxed, this will win their votes??????? When they are used to paying no taxes? Sorry, not gonna happen.

As Jefferson said, once the people learn they can vote themselves money, it’s all over.......we passed that line long ago, and that’s the Dem base appeal, and never going to change....”Vote for us - We’ll give you more things...”
