Perhaps she determined that Romney as the ultimate candidate was a foregone conclusion. I have expected that outcome for a long time for reasons that are pretty much beyond the control of the Republicans. If so then she may have decided to do an independent run. I would support that if she does. Romney as a "Republican" president and even as a failing candidate would finish the Republican party and probably the Republic. Four more years of Romney or the kenyan is more than the country can take. If Palin were to run and make a good showing, perhaps 25%, I think conservatives would replace the Republican Party shortly and the "third party" would be part of a reinvigorated two party system. Of course, that depends on not having an imposed one party system before 2016. In any event I am not optimistic.
