It was exactly as the wee one, Piper, said...a vacation. (Paid for by SarahPAC)
“Milt has a polling ceiling. He just doesn’t break through it. There is every opportunity for Cain to make big gains or for Perry to somehow rehabilitate himself. Romney is far from a lock.”
Good analysis. As the number of conservative candidates decline, their supporters will go to the conservatives still standing.
A field test.
“romney had better sell everything he has because the grass roots will never be there for him and he will not see any funds from the base Conservatives.”
Half or two thirds of conservatives will support Romney in the general if he is the nominee. That will not be enough to win.
I will not vote for Romney in any circumstances, but at the end of the day most conservatives will do as they have done for decades now, and vote for the paler evil.
My friend cares about truth and does not support Romney because he is a poseur.
What Romney achieved in business and with the Olympics was real.

I will still find Romney more acceptable than Ron Paul or Obama.
Well I am with you on not voting for romney but I disagree about Conservatives... some will vote for him if he wins the nomination... but obama will win in a landslide because too many will stay home. Here is what Reagan said all the way back in 1975 when he explained that people like romney will never do anything but cause Conservatives to lose. He stood against everything that romney stands for.
Ronald Reagan 1975 CPAC Speech:
“Americans are hungry to feel once again a sense of mission and greatness.
I dont know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, We must broaden the base of our party, when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.
It was a feeling that there was not a sufficient difference now between the parties THAT KEPT A MAJORITY OF THE VOTERS AWAY FROM THE POLLS. When have we ever advocated a closed-door policy? Who has ever been barred from participating?
Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?”

“A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.”

I agree - I just think that many ineducable conservatives will once more accept the GOP’a Trojan Horse candidate as we have for almost a quarter century. Not enough for Romney to win, however. You and I just disagree on the margin for an Obama win over Romney, and I think it will be close. Third party or independent could turn an Obama re-election into a landslide or a mere plurality, but he would still beat Romney.
“What Romney achieved in business and with the Olympics was real.”
So are his hypocrisies and liberal record.
Agreed.
I believe Sarah Palin would make a great Secretary of the Interior in a Republican administration.
