This is the box the Democrats' identity politics has put them in: even though it might well be better for their Party, and Hillary would be far harder for us to beat, every Democrat politician knows that challenging a Black incumbent for national office is political suicide.
Their race-baiting and race-mongering have gotten so thoroughly out of control that they've they've now got to argue with the most convoluted, tortured, twists of rhetorical balderdash that Tea Party support for Cain is actually a sign of "racism."

By winning the female vote, and the “soft middle” so-called independents. You know, the independents. The ones who aren’t paying attention and vote based upon impressions formed from network news sound bites, magazine covers, TV ads and late night comics. The ones who don’t know who they’re voting for until a week before the election. The ones who think it would be “neat” to have the first woman president, without regards to who she is or what she would do once in office.
The same ones who elected Barack Obama.
And, while a lot of blacks won’t bother to vote if Obama declines to run again, or is beaten in the primaries, the ones who do vote will vote mostly Democrat.

Obama likens himself as a world player. The USA he has contempt for. It wouldn't be surprising if he decides to leave us because the world beckons him onto bigger and more important things.
If unemployment stays above 9% by Jan. 1, Obama will be unelectable because it won’t have a chance to come down significantly by the Nov. elections.
So, I believe that the DEM Party leaders will ask him to step aside for “the good of the Party” ...
‘Course he probably won’t - then the leaders have a choice, stick with Obama [and almost certain unelectability], or back another candidate such as Hilary ...
But, her as a replacement for Biden does nothing for the party. Zero, right now, is too much damaged goods, and will only get worse over the next year, barring a miracle...or martial law.
On the other hand...A gracious Obama (snort), stepping aside, for whatever reason, and wholeheartedly endorsing Hillary, would energize the entire party. In fact all of Zero's negatives INSTANTLY become positives, as marginal dems, rinos and indies, now see Zero differently.
Where Hillary now, should she try to run against Zero, would be seen as part of the Obama administration, and would be fighting that identity. But if Zero steps down, all the negative energy that people have against him is gone. Look at Rasmussen polls. About 44% strongly disapprove of the president. Remove Obama from the race, and all those people who strongly disapprove of him, and WOULD HAVE voted against him, are now neutralized. Their anger and ire no longer have a target.
On the other hand, he hands Hillary 95% of the black vote. He would no longer be seen as the leader of failure, but once again could step into his "We ARE the ones" role, and endorse Hillary.
Dems and libs have short memories, but most of all are GULLIBLE.
They WANT Obama to be a savior. They WANT their party to win. They WANT life to conform to their world view. But these last 3 years REALITY has been kicking them in the teeth. They have had cognitive dissonance driving them mad. Should Obama step back and endorse Hillary, it ALLOWS them to once again WANT Obama to be a messianic type. Because of their desire for him to be their messianic type, his endorsement for Hillary will be even more powerful.
I really don’t see it. What’s he going for? Ban Ki-Moon’s job? Seriously. He knows the US Presidency is the pinnacle of human political achievement, and like all egotists he’s got to have that second term to affirm the greatness of his “transformational presidency.”
Replace Biden with Hillary, real soon...

A nation in mourning = Sympathy vote. Also, demonize all adversarries = hostility vote.
Attention is then deflected from the real or current issues, and passed to the created ones.
And if things are bad enough but polls aren't to your liking, declare martial law...
for the good of the nation.
He isn't stepping down; he isn't standing aside. It's not possible given his personality disorder.
Even if it were possible for Zero to see the writing on the wall. And even if he could see his stepping back and endorsing Hillary, as saving the election for the party. His ego would never allow him to do that.
Like Hitler, he'd rather take everybody down with him, instead of give up power.
Its easier to have a conversation with a brick wall, about politics and society, than a liberal. And the brick wall will have better comprehension than a liberal.
It would also be easier and more comforting, to bang your head against a brick wall vs talking with a lib.
