I am curious about the “amnesty” policy the column attributes to Palin, and how that holds up among her supporters?

I have placed a comment at the IBT stating they were incorrect and offering this:
per: http://www.organize4palin.com/immigration/
ImmigrationLets respect the hardworking, accomplished legal immigrants who sacrificed much, contributed selflessly, and helped build America into the greatest melting pot on earth! We need to understand the importance of Americas fair immigration laws. -Facebook post(5/16/2010)
Supportive of Arizonas immigration law first to stand with Governor Brewer Secure the Border effort
Supports sending troops to the U.S. Mexico border and completion of a fence to secure Americas southern border
Opposed to amnesty for illegal immigrants
Opposed to the DREAM act
Opposes boycotts of states who implement state immigration laws
Supportive of legal immigration

Palin supporters are not as stupid as Perry and Romney supporters.

I think the author is referring to her statements during the 2008 campaign. Vice-Presidential candidates mimic what the Presidential candidate says on the issues.

I wonder how Rick Perry's support for the following holds up among his supporters:
1. Against a border wall
2. Against Interior Enforcement provided by laws like AZ1070
3. Supports Comprehensive Immigration Reform
4. Against using E-Verify to help effectively lesson the ability of Illegal Aliens to get work in the US
So Rick Perry wants to burn through more TaxPayer cash by putting more people on the border, an approach that have never been shown to lesson the crush of Illegal Aliens, and eschews every approach that is effective in lessoning Illegal Immigration and you want to take Governor Palin and her supporters to task?
Try getting your own house in order before pointing fingers at someone else.
