Those of us from Texas know Rick Perry as a political whore. If he was in Massachusets he would have a health care bill.
He has lasted so long because he has been fortunate in his election opponents. He isn't that bad, but I just don't see him as the man for the times. Put him in Washington and he will fit right in. He and Romney have more in common than good hair.
People outside Texas who are promoting him for president don't know him.

he was singing the praises of open borders, he spent a lot of effort talking about healthcare for people on both sides of the border and he did that time again when you look through the archives of the speeches he's given.

Amen. They don't see that he was a supporter of open borders, LULAC, amnesty, and the numerous other things he's said over the last 10 years. All they see is a pretty face on TV and hear some nice words.
