The Cook PVI for the 9th is only D+5, and the district has been trending Republican. I really do not know how someone like Weiner has continued to stay there. The right Republican could win the district if enough of an investment is put into it. I don’t know how much that would be worth considering they are probably going to eliminate it, but it might have great symbolic value for a conservative Republican to take the “progressive” psychopath Anthony Weiner’s seat.

Nice press release, Steve. Wish you the best, but I presume the GOP nomination is under the control of the party organization since it's a special election and there will be no primary.

What other Republicans do you think are interested in the seat and when is the decision on the nominee scheduled?
