Perry’s OK - admittedly better than the other “establishment” guys, but he seems weak on immigration, and definitely beholden to big money interests more than I like.
Still, he’d be far better than Obama...but I really don’t think he’ll run, nor do I particularly want him to.
I’ve accepted Perry as an eventuality... not that I’m happy with it.
Like hell he’s better than the other mainstream candidates. He’s Mitt Romney in Texas... except Mitt Romney can reasonably claim he had to be Mitt Romney to get elected in Massachusetts. Why would a governor from Texas...
... Have to force 11-year-old girls to get vaccinated for STDs, even against their parents consent?...
... Oppose not only immigration-law enforcement, but even teaching immigrants in English?...
... Push for a superhighway to allow Mexican truckers to ship drugs and illegals straight into America’s heartland, bypassing border control, at a cost of tens of billions to American taxpayers?
Rick Perry is no conservative; he’s just a puppet of corporations who don’t want to pay taxes. There’s a big difference, the difference between freedom and fascism. He knows no limits to the government’s ability to regulate, protect cronies’ marketshares, or to flaunt the public will.
He can roast in Hell, for all I care, but I will never vote for his destruction of conservatism. Better we have a socialist in the White House and conservatives representing dissent, than a fascist in the White House and the socialists representing the dissent.
