Again, I like having Perry as our governor instead of Bill White. That does not mean I think he will function well in the White House. Texas is full of reasonable, free-thinking individuals, and always runs itself well as long as we don’t let the whacko’s elect a progressive commie.
Perry has some baggage in his own state...so let’s not get too hasty! Main stream candidates got us where we are! Let’s not forget that!
It has more to do with congress and less with the president. If we elect conservatives consistently at the congressional level...we don’t have to worry about the president...too much.
Yes, the president has influence and power...but the congress is just as powerful and influential.
