No, Sarah Palin is not a personality cult. Sarah Palin is a politician, pundit, kingmaker, etc. Palin's personality cult is entirely separate from Sarah Palin, and I don't consider her to be responsible for it.
What you think of someone believing that their little known choice will go from never having been elected to anything, straight to President of the United States?
I think that describes a perfectly normal, healthy, political partisan. If all you see on the Palin FR threads is perfectly normal, healthy political partisanship, then I guess I see something you do not.
To me, conservative government is the gold ring, and politicians are just the help we hire to obtain it. I may respect the hired help -- I certainly respect Sarah Palin and would support her candidacy -- but that about ends it for me.
You missed the point, Palin is a natural front runner for 2012 just by resume, and being our veep candidate last time, throw in that she is the most effective, charismatic conservative next to Reagan that we have ever seen, and that the media seems unable to defeat, then she naturally has a huge enthusiastic base among Republican voters and conservatives, that means using personality cult to describe her supporters, is stupid.
Now devotees of a man that has never won an election, yet aspires to start by winning the Presidency first, well his dedicated supporters could be insultingly called members of a “personality cult” with some level of justification.
