To a lot of Texans he is a RINO, but by our standards, that still makes him further Right than most governors in this country.
I don’t think he will run for President. He has expanded his ranch and is building on his house. I think he is happy where he is.
Anti-tax? Gross receipts tax enacted on his watch. About as tough on spending as he has been on illegals. Except for the tax point, you are right on the positives.
