Perhaps it is a flawed equivalency for knowledgeable voters, but the surface perception of Huck is that he is religious and conservative. And maybe on the down-home likeable factor they are comparable, altho I don’t like him that much.

My longtime friends at the church of Christ where I worship are all opposed to Mike Huckabee. The overwhelming majority of them favor Sarah Palin although there has been a recent uptick for Herman Cain, fueled by his performance in the Greenville, SC debate.

Most telling, in my opinion, is how much dislike there is for the Huckster in Arkansas. I occasionally visit a congregation there and chat with old friends from long ago. His track record as governor does certainly does not endear him to this particular group of Conservative Christians.

My perception is that Mike Huckabee's polling numbers come from the liberal wing of the GOP and from members of denominations that embrace modernism. As I see it, Huckabee stands for the "gospel" of social justice which is counter to Christ's teachings of individual responsibility and individual, voluntary charity.

I'll grant that my take on this is based on a small sample size and is anecdotal. Plus my Christian friends and colleagues may be those "knowledgeable voters" as cited by altura. I'll also add that I think support for the Huckster lacks the passion and depth that Sarah Palin has.

84 in a 65 is SOP for most Americans on an open road.

If this is the quality of “dirt” they have on Willow - bring it on.

Here in Texas, there are some stretches with a 65 MPH speed limit (which most of us consider a tad on the low side). Anyone going, say, 65-75 is usually in the slow lane. 75-85 is the norm for those of us going with the flow. In fact, the speed limit here may be increased to 85 MPH.

While admitting that I haven't been to Alaska, I'd surmise that going 84 MPH is the norm in such a sparsely populated state. It's a non-story in my opinion blown up by the lamestream media to discredit our next president. In fact, getting a speeding ticket is a rite of passage...just part of a young person's growing up process.

"In my opinion, there's no overlap at all between Sarah Palin's supporters and those backing the Huckster."

There is some overlap with every candidate. Probably even some across party lines.

But I agree him bowing out, should have little impact in Sarah's plans.

Losing with Sarah makes more sense than losing with Huckabee.

Are you planning on losing?
