How do we get voters to stop being apathetic? Most people find politics boring and tedious and don’t see that much difference no matter who is in power.
The “etablishment” RNC went to Beck and asked him to campaign for dubya. He did. He threw his whole backing behind him because they convinced him that dubya was a true Conservative.
After dubya was elected, he found out he had been lied to...and in turn, he felt he had mislead his listeners...which he apologized for. Bush was clearly NOT a true Conservative. Beck said they used him and it would never happen again.
So when they came BACK to him and asked him to endorse mcpain, he said NO. Not only did he refuse to endorse him, but he couldn’t believe that mcpain had gotten the nomination in the first place. And no, he didn’t like romney either.
He did love Sarah. He was very up on Sarah Palin. And to my knowledge, he has Never dissed her. Some article writer added his own words to make it seem so, but Glenn did NOT dis her.
The establishment GOP hates him, and guess what, he doesn’t care. Furthermore, we can handle the “birther” issue. No one has to agree with me 100%. If they agree with me on 99%, I’ll take it.
In aggregate, the Dims do not have the problems we conservatives have in the Republican Party.
The Dims are basically in lockstep thinking with each other while we conservatives have to fight a two front war. One against the Rockefeller Republicans and one against the left.
A third party will most assuredly give the Dims the wins so we have to marshal our forces to make the Republican Party really conservative so we can then step forward and save our Country. That takes more than twice the effort.
“Im an immigrant woman with the requisite accent and I used to be very far to the left on the political spectrum.”
Just curious, and of course you don’t have to answer, but immigrant from where? And what changed your view, a series of “ah hah” moments or one big “Ah Hah” moment?
IMHO, Obama will make possible a very strict Constitutionalist POTUS.
Maybe you are saying his replacement will be a strict constitutionalist like Michelle Bachmann?
I have no doubt that he is right in his assumption that the ‘right’ is trying to politically assassinate him, Michelle and Sarah... I have seen Rove on his talking head circuit.
Too bad Beck mocked me and other fellow ‘birthers’ making US out to be kooks. So sorry for you Beck. Enjoy the stockpile of gold you earned by all of us birthers listening to your stupid butt.
If you want my honest opinion, it’s this:
1) First, it’s my belief that conservatives and globalist socialists will come down to a shooting war. There is no way that evil will no go down without a physical fight, it’s always been that way. It’s subtle, and insidious until it has no shadow to crawl into and then it turns on people like a viper, showing all it ugliness. Look at Wisconsin, and that was merely the beginning. Wait until there’s a bigger push for conservativism, and it’s not 10 degrees outside.
2) The first thing to do is to end all entitlements. People are only apathetic if they’re pampered. At the same time, end not only the income tax, but end the ability (through an ammendment) for government to collect taxes through any kind of withholding of wages, etc. (Meaning all taxes, other than tarriffs, must be written out in a check once a year, or even quarterly). This would be moot with no income tax, but it’s the greatest scam on people in the history of mankind, to take a cut before they ever see it.
3) I personally believe in restoring the number of U.S. Representatives to being somewhere about a ratio of 1:60,000, or so. People have lost their voice. We should have several thousand representatives, not 435. They are so diluted, they can live in another part of the state and hear nothing from their constituents. There is no way they will listen to one voice out of nearly a million, and they made sure to consolidate their power so they wouldn’t have to. When the people can be heard, they will be heard.
End entitlements, and make people physically pay for things, and they’ll get involved. The problem now is one of timing. In life sometimes, we have to patiently wait. It doens’t mean do nothing, but it means that there are some things out of our control. We have to help everyone see that they are part times slaves to politicians who care nothing about them. This is happening naturally as the dollar is being destroyed. But it will eventually come to a head.
The best way to stop the apathy before that point is to remind people of what they are paying for to give others a life they cannot have, like illegals with new cars while their kids get food stamps, or welfare queens getting free healthcare and free lobsters.
In all behavioural changes, I say this. “To change, people must first view where they really are. They must then know where they really want to be. Then they must take the step and cross the gap.” Right now people Don’t understand where they are really at, but it’s coming head on so they cannot continue to ignore it. The problem is that in a vacuum of truth, they listen to anyone who’s willing to point the blame. That’s where true conservatives shine, they must be able to lead people, first out of ignorance (mental freedom), and then into liberty (physical freedom).
People are apathetic because they’ve been conditioned through public education that Government is so big and so important that they can’t possibly have a voice/say in anything. And that’s the myth that must be abolished. It’s happening, but slowly, but for now, we must first help people to see where they are.
I agree. See my post at #8.
He'd be better if he got off his religion and had a beer or two each day.
IMHO
And you drop an apple, it falls down. You don’t have to be Newton to observe simple facts.
Looks like the rational, responsible, and honest -- the Tea Party and allies -- will HAVE TO TAKE OVER THE GOP.
The GOP is in BED with the LEFT! They hate the Tea Party & they don't want the truth to come out about them, same agenda as the LEFT!
“Splain this, Lucy. I have seen obama as the most anti-constituional President since FDR.
Maybe you are saying his replacement will be a strict constitutionalist like Michelle Bachmann?”
Remember one Jimmy Carter? He was also an in-your-face commie/collectivist/Liberal Democrat.
After experiencing the results of “Carter-ism”, America went for Reagan.
IMHO, Obama, being worse that Carter, will bring America much closer to the Constitution.
“The GOP is in BED with the LEFT! They hate the Tea Party”
Apply Occam’s Razor and that is the most simple solution to the what er have all experienced with our own eyes.
He is correct... of this there can be no debate.

Yeah, we agree on that!
It was 1 big Ah-hah moment, April 2001.
Coward Glenn Beck Ping..................
Listen Beck, until you stop being a coward, practice what you preach and apologize to Eligibility Conservatives, you’re done.
Soros got to you, screwed you many times over, fired you from FNC, made you his mouthpiece and attack dog against Conservatives. Now you’re crying as usual.
Don’t worry, Glenn baby, Soros will let you make a living somehow provided you keep your attacks on Conservatives.
Was that the proverbial “shake hands with the devil” that you correctly exposed and demonized, Soros?
I guess so. As I said above, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH...READ, QUESTION WITH BOLDNESS AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION! Right, crybaby?
Our household is now Glenn-Beck-free!
Papa Alinsky is proud to say, good for you, Soros!
Hey sweet you!
Glenn knows better than to say that Bachmann is getting it worse than Sarah Palin. Other than that huge mistake, he’s was spot on.
