Mitt’s father (or any candidate’s) parents don’t have to be natural born citizens; they DO have to be American citizens. Their being American citizens confers on their children the ‘natural born’ status.
If George Romney ran for POTUS he was, at a minimum, a U.S. citizen, whether or not ‘natural born.’ My memory of the time is that George Romney never had much more chance of becoming the GOP nominee than Mitt has today. So the NBC issue was never a major deal. Brackets, on the other hand, managed to get himself elected, so it is, or should be, a major deal.
But if Mitt wants to spend another $20M or so of his money, what do I care?
Which brings up the matter that it is REALLY unsettling, that leaders who can rise to the top of the PILE, can be so ignorant and shrug their shoulders concerning THE LAW...
