But that being said, I just can't stand the guy!
He’s a NY liberal, he’s supported Hillary and far too many Freepers have bought into his story for no other reason than he’s a birther.

We are full of Rino's and they all want to "reach across the aisles". I am fed up with Rino's and weak candidates. Trump will have my vote if he runs!
To me, it's an indication that the Republican voters don't know what they really want.
Trump is a “real man”? Huh? Trump is another RINO, who too many, already, see as a conservative, instead. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH!
I love it already.
More power to him for his outspokenness concerning Obama’s birth certificate, but that in no way should vault him to front runner status for the republican nomination.
He is no conservative by a long shot, and his track record over many issues, in particular BANKRUPTCIES, makes him a terrible choice for POTUS, IMO.
I like his America first tone. Why are jobs going to China, India etc, why are we fighting in Libya spending our money and China is the largest customer for Libyan oil???? Why build roads and schools in Afghanistan and have to rebuild them in one week after they are destroyed while schools and roads in America crumble??? I like the way he dislikes government convoluted logic and stupidity. Trump does come with risks on social issues and 2nd Amendment, but all Americans need jobs and food in their belly before we worry about social issues. He is going to do well with Reagan Democrats and blue collar working men. Wall Street banks??? He knows how they operate and what they did to the American economy, they will fear him because he knows their MO and where to look.
After President Ronald Reagan, the next GOP Presidents/final GOP Presidential candidates were “to the left” of Reagan, and we haven’t gotten out of this “ongoing negative funk” yet. NO MORE RINOS, please!
This is an old article from the 90’s. They just crossed out Jesse Ventura and inserted Donald Trump.
Palin endorsed Trump’s birther quest. That puts a very high lift to his efforts. A Palin-Trump ticket doesn’t seem far fetched today going by Trump’s expression for USA exceptionalism. When and if there is a get to gether of any sort the combination could be jelling. I believe Trump could work with a strong woman and Palin with a strong man. My hope, if such happens, is that Trump recognizes the wrongs of the people he has played footsy with in the past and forgoes any further dealings and instead caters to the world of Palin.

From my point of view which isn’t anywhere near the point of being a Trump supporter I will say that I believe;
a) We wouldn’t hear any McCain type BS about how his opponent would make a good President.
b) He would support our best international allies and be a nightmare to our enemies.
c) We could hear a refreshing no nonsense outspokenness regarding the stupidity of the entrenched bureaucracy in the fight he would face to get the nation in fiscal shape. He would tell people they could go pound sand.
d) I think he can twist some arms to get things done fiscally.
e) The real unknowns about Trump are what kind of judges would he would appoint and whether he can be counted on to effectively support social conservative issues. I don’t believe he really gives a damn when it comes to social issues important to conservatives.
But until he throws his hat in the ring all this speculation is pretty much moot.
When it comes to Palin I know we would get a-c and rock solid on e but I don’t know if she could deliver on d.
And same with her, until the hat is in the ring its all moot speculation.
The Donald isn’t going to be president, but he will spice things up a bit.
Thanks for posting that, it’s a keeper! So right-on, I couldn’t have said it better.
And to the people who say they “can’t stand the guy”, respect is what’s more important, not nicey-nice affability. If I hear one more pundit or politician on tv say, even if they disagree with BHO on virtually everything, how much they “like him personally” and what a “nice guy” he is, I’ll barf.
Trump does love this country, with good reason, and he’s just the alpha leader we need - he’s a worthy adversary who can defeat BHO.
Personally, I would rather not buy into a kind of false "conventional wisdom", and look a little further into what his core values are...which is what some our fellow voters should have done with the Obama "craze" a couple of years ago.
Trump has a way of saying some things that sound good, but isn't that what Obama's voters would tell you about Obama in 2008? Sure, we know that Trump is a businessman, but do we know much more? There are a lot of successful businessmen and women who would make a terrible POTUS.
while i agree with him on some issues, i cannot/will not vote for him unless he is the GOP nominee and running against Obama... and i don’t see this happening...
A lack of ideological fervor also makes it more likely
that from his perch in the Oval Office he would be a
pragmatist.
Trump is not ideologically anchored. This moves his appeal
factor positively as he will carry little obligation to either
political party.
These are absolutely the most important traits a potential
President could possibly offer a wayward country such
as ours.
But a straight and narrow non political President will do
the country no good with a wayward congress. Without
doubt Trump will quickly become frustrated with the
incompetence of career politicians in congress be they
from the turnip field or cabbage patch.
You want to see this country turn on a dime?
Two possibilities:
1. Trump uses his resources to round up 435 non political
candidates to run for the House. He also rounds up 33
non political candidates to run for the Senate.
He then runs as a package deal with a slogan
Elect us all or elect none of us.
2. Trump buys into The American New Deal and uses
those people as his package with the same slogan.
That will win Trump the election and that will change
America on a dime.
