Newtie strapped on kneepads, when Clinton was in the White House and hasn't ever taken them off.

He caved quite a lot to Bill and has paled around with Hill, pushing for Hillcare.

Then there was all the lovey-dovey sofa sitting with Pelosi.

Newtie was a great back-bencher, but once he became Speaker, he fumbled and folded.

You either have a rather selective memory, or your knowledge of his history is quite incomplete.

Posting the factual truth about Newt is something that should be done here and often !

Newt was VERY effective in getting the 1994 GOP house elected. I always enjoyed watching him on C-Span in the early 90’s. He articulated the conservative position extremely well. That said, I DON’T like how he seems to change his positions to agree with liberals. And NOW he’s back to the old Newt, which I respected. Clinton had Newt over a barrel, because of their mututal womanizing. Newt knew he couldn’t credibly criticize Bill, without having it backfire on himself. Are there any potential GOP POTUS candidates that don’t have baggage?
