Former presidential adviser Karl Rove said Tuesday that the race for the Republican Party presidential nomination is wide open.
There is no front-runner in Iowa; theres no front-runner in America, Rove said on Fox News. We should welcome that.
Since November, Mr. Rove has made similar comments during his speaking tours. He has openly criticized a number of Republican nominees, including Republican Delaware U.S. Senate candidate Christine ODonnell. Ms. ODonnell eventually lost to Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Coons.
He noted that recent polls show four candidates who are consistently ahead. Among those included likely include former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, all of whom have been touted as possible presidential candidates.
The fact that no single candidate is leading in early polls means this contest is going to be wide open, Mr. Rove said, adding that a wide open race is good for conservatives.
At least get the numbers right:
Fiorina lost by 11%, O'Donnell lost by 16.6%.
ME?
There’s a strategery here.
Do you remember the race in 2000?
All I’m saying is that their feud will escalate, then he’ll come around, and their ‘reunion’ will be good for a couple of dozen news cycles...
You heard it here first.
He is trying to strangle her in her crib....I doubt she will come around when it is over.
“Rove wants conservtives to wallow around with a half dozen potential candidates while some RINO walks away with the prize.”
As does the GOP.
Gay men cannot stand strong women.
How’s the koolade, Rover?
Sarah is clearly the front runner, even though this poor guy can’t say the words.....he’s trying to keep the illusion of a race out there, but IMHO it’s Sarah’s to lose
“He is over.”
Yeah, he really needs to GO AWAY.
Something smells like sour milk...oh, another Rove thread. Go away, Karl...far, far away...
The cactus rose is off the turd.
You get paid for dispensing nuggets of wisdom like this, Karl? Man...there are some dumb people out there...
LOL...Lugar/Graham 2012!
I watched this. This title is not the truth. He had her in there as a top contender.
I keep seeing this “60%” figure getting bounced around but I have difficulty understanding where it comes from. From what I see, people like her and THAT’S what will elect her. Show me another candidate that can tie up traffic on every highway in and out of a city by just showing up to sign books and I’ll consider them too. No one else can draw the crowds the way she does. She outdrew Harry Reid in his hometown by a factor of about 30:1!
Every once in awhile I see a “poll” that claims she can’t be elected. As we all know though, polls can show anything the client wants. The only poll that means anything is going to be held in November of 2012. Everything prior to that is just wishful thinking and personal opinion.
"Go Mitt. Go Mitt. Go Mitt.
We attack .for you. For you!!!!!!"
"Rove has made no secret of his support for Romney as McCain's VP. "
I think he’s kidding himself.
