Sarcasm aside, surprisingly, there are quite a few of us out here. Not enough of us, obviously and unfortunately, but a significant number nonetheless.
Oh I know Bob. Sad thing is when I lived in Tulsa I went to all the Republican parties, fish fry’s, etc.
Now I am out here and I go to all the Dem parties. I know and see just about everyone out there and was invited to Arnie’s coronation. Hung out with Caroline Kennedy and the rest of the clan for the day.
Another friend, who was good friends with one of the Kennedy’s from Florida got me tickets on the 8th row. Something about me being a Republican, won’t hold it against him, besides we are friends.
The hilarious part was our mayor and former mayor Tom Mchenry were here with our new Sheriff(Nice lady) and Tom was acting like his usual self. Talking at you but don’t know you kind of thing which has always ticked me off.
So as we are sitting in audience me and a friend start looking around to see who else is there and spied a few other friends but to my amazement Tom, Sheriff Laurie and Ron Gonzalez are sitting maybe 10 or more rows behind us.
So we wave to Ron and Laurie who flash smiles and wave back with a puzzled look on their face and Ron mouths something like “How did you get those seats and we are way back here?”. I laugh and shrug my shoulders.
The best part was looking right at Tom who no longer had that stupid “I’m better than you look” and was visibly irritated at being upstaged(In that figment of his mind).
I told my friend to wave right at him and smile as I took pictures and I waved to him yelling “What a great day!”.
He didn’t flinch and just sat there looking at us like we weren’t there.
I started laughing so hard, one of those laughs that everyone knows “That has got to be the funniest thing” type of laughs and Caroline turns around and wants to know what is so funny.
So I tell her, as I am laughing, you tell Anthony I will donate to his charity and make sure to tell him thank you.
She says “Why”.
Now I am really laughing and I say because our Mayor and Sheriff are 10 rows behind us but mostly because our former Mayor Mchenry, an officious ass, is really out of sorts because we are up here with you and this has got to be one the best days ever!”.
She just smiled and said she would hold me to my promise and kinda laughed. She’s a good girl.
So later we are at an after party or whatever these things are and Ron, our Mayor, with Sheriff Laurie, walks up and excitedly inquires how we got better seats than they did.
So I turn around and Anthony, Caroline, Patrick and a bunch other Kennedy’s are there and I loudly say “Well, Anthony was gracious enough to invite us to sit with him and Caroline. Isn’t he terrific?”
Tom had to have heard it, as I spied he just few feet away.
I just know know he was miffed. LOL.
Too funny.
Still I wish I would be invited to Republican soirees
