“If the Alaska senate results hold up for Joe Miller, the former governor of Alaska will have shut them up permanently.”
I wouldn’t buy that. They’ll find some way to marginalize this, or just flat-out ignore Palin’s support for Miller.
With 61% of the vote counted, Miller has 51.56% of the vote to Murkowski’s 48.54%. His lead actually declined slightly percentage wise when the last 40 precincts were reported. As best I can tell those precincts were from Sitka (6 or 7), Juneau (2), a bunch of Anchorage precincts, some from Mat-su, etc. The precinct numbers I’m looking at indicate that there are fewer than a dozen Anchorage precincts out. There are still a few precincts from the Mat Valley & Fairbanks to report, but they are mostly in.
However, there are still 43 out of 46 precincts left from House District 6 (Southeast) PLUS note the following outstanding precincts:
Kodiak: 4 of 14 have reported
Dillingham: 2 of 22 have reported
Bethel: 0 of 27 have reported
Nome: 3 of 27 have reported
Kotzebue: 1 of 21 has reported
All I’m saying is that like many Alaska races, this one isn’t over yet.
They will probably try to say that Palin’s support almost cost Miller the election.
