does that mean since they hated McCain then, that they voted for Obama?

Don't assume that those who "hate" McCain will simply run into the arms of the Dems. There are folks who are fed up with the shenanigans of both parties and have either chosen to vote R, D, or third party (as needed) for particular offices or not to vote at all for particular offices.

I’m fed up with the crap in the GOP too..don’t give a rats behind about the Dems because they have always been full of it. I don’t like McCain, never cared for the guy at all. But he hasn’t changed, he was the same guy in 2008 and he is the same guy now, no different. It’s not like he woke up one day and said “Gee I’m a liberal Republican” he’s always been like that. I’m just saying let’s suppose that Sarah Palin won the nomination in 2012(Don’t know if she’s running or would even win, like I said, she would have to earn it just like everyone else) but if she did win, would you vote for her?

"If party leaders don't want Palin -- and I think they'd be nuts to want her, but that doesn't mean they won't -- then they'll have little trouble keeping the nomination from her."

Do you agree with Jonathan Bernstein's statement? Do you think it is an accurate description of how the "party leaders" in the Republican Party will treat Sarah Palin?
