OK, I don’t mean to be argumentative, but I have a serious question for Palin fans here. Remember, I’m NOT anti-Palin...I like her and think she’s been unfairly savaged by a media that feels it must destroy female and minority conservatives.

BUT....what makes you think Palin is a more solid coservative than, say, my favorite...Jim DeMint? What, exactly, in what she’s said or done - beyond the fact that she drives the MSM nuts, which I’ll admit IS delicious - makes you think she’s the idal conservative standard-bearer?

She is conservative. Is she “more conservative” than DeMint?” I don’t know, maybe not. BUT! The very fact that the media spends an inordinate amount of time trying to destroy her tells me that it is Sarah Palin they fear. I think it is because they know she has a real shot at the nomination and would eat Bamby for lunch if she were to run. I like Jim DeMint, but if winning is our goal here, we need someone who will really excite the base. DeMint may excite the truly diehards, but I think Palin will be able to draw the kind of support from moderates and the female vote that will be needed to beat Zero. Just my humble opinion.

Those are 2 different questions. Is the question who is more conservative? Or who would be the better candidate? If you are looking for THE MOST conservative person in the country, I'm sure we could find someone more conservative than either 1 of them. Between the 2 of them, I don't think you'll find much of a difference as to who is "more conservative". Just because one of them might be slightly more conservative than the other doesn't mean they would be a better candidate or President.

As for who would be the ideal "standard-bearer", the 2 biggest differences I see between the 2 of them is that 1 of them has been a governor, 1 of them has been a VP nominee and candidate, and 1 of them would turn out about 10 times the number the other one would for an appearance. In all of those cases, Palin has the upper hand.
