Yossarian, I am not familiar with you other than through your posts on this thread, but I do know 2ndDivisionVet`s posting history. To be blunt, he`s posted more excellent, informative, conservative articles than ANY other FReeper I know of in my nearly 10 years of reading this site. Read his responses here with care and his position is perfectly reasonable. He is intellectually honest, and this tired and childish `You criticized Ronal Reagan whaaaaaa!` stuff should be beneath you.

Even the best politician is imperfect and has made wrong decisions. 2nd`s point was that no conservative pol is 9perfect, and if you`re looking for one, living or dead, who passes a litmus test perfectly, you will look in vain.

You might try showing some respect to a poster who is clearly conservative and intelligent; you might learn a lot from him, as I and countless FReepers have from his outstanding contributions to this site.

It is very simple: I want him to retract his lie about Ronald Reagan.

By using Reagan's signing of a bill involving abortion, as a way of saying that Reagan wasn't a "true conservative", is to totally go against the entire reasoning Ronald Reagan had in signing that law. It is a gross misrepresentation - otherwise known as a lie -as to Reagan's intent in this manner. Thus, since abortion is such a critical guideline to morality, it is a lie as to Ronald Reagan's character.

I see this very incorrect "line of reason" - put in quotes, as something filled with factual faults has no reason - sometimes being used to justify some other GOP politician's crass political maneuverings. We may have to do distasteful things to knock communists out of office, and we may only be able to make tiny baby steps to gain a foothold back - BUT WE CAN'T DO IT WITH SLANDER, ESPECIALLY NOT OF REAGAN.

Ronald Reagan was a human, and thus imperfect. BUT HE NEVER, EVER IN HIS POLITICAL LIFE SUPPORTED ABORTION.
