Whoops, you’re right. I had quickly read the right column in red and thought it was showing a two way matchup of Campbell and Fiorina.

Looks bad for Devore.

I was supporting Devore and then with today’s news I refreshed my self on the status of the race (seeing no chance for Devore), then I saw the petty way that the Devore campaign is dumping on Palin today after the endorsement, and I now think that Palin’s political expertise was correct again.

Except for FReepers, nobody north of the Tehatchapis has even heard of DeVore. He is well known around Orange County, but not up north.

Josh believes that Palin is a harmless, if demagogic, publicity and fame hound.

Anybody who can't see that fame pursues Sarah, and not the other way around, has his head up his patoot.

His service to his country and 12 years in the legislature mean squat, huh?

I guess he was just running in the wrong state at the worng time... unlike Scott Brown, also an “unknown”, far down in the polls, until his sails were filled by divine winds.

Oh, wait, I must be california dreamin’.

Nothing “fair weather” about it, the guy has made a series of whiny missteps that were already troubling me, and now his petty girlishness today has turned me off.

Throw that in with the inability to put together an effective campaign and it spells loser, I’m a voter, not the pity office.

We better hope he doesn’t pull a primary win off.

No offense intended, cast your vote and spend your money as you best see fit. I’m sure Carly and Meg will. lots of it. ;-)

He’s had a fair chance to get trajection, pull votes. He’s decent enough, sure, but you’ve got to cut the slack at some point. He’s not going to claw back Campbell’s lead, Fiorina could because of money and appeal. And in my view Fiorina is okay, better than many, and remember it’s california!

On the other hand, Palin also endorsed Michelle Bachmann and Doug Hoffman, both of whom are definetly conservative. It looks as if Fiorina and Campbell are the only ones who can win. If DeVore had a real chance, I suspect that she’d back him.
BTW, just because someone may have been a poor businessman doesn’t necessarily mean that they’d become a poor (or good) politician.

Slight addition/correction:

Carly Fiorina ran HP into the ground because she lacks the business acumen to run a blue chip company. Sarah Palin let litigious liberal lawyers run her into the ground up in Alaska. Incompetence often finds a camaraderie in politics.

Wise choice , grasshopper.

Anyone that thought California would ever come to its senses or tries to buck the moderate control of the party apparatus is not worth losing sleep over anyway.. or voting for. :-}

This is getting tiresome.

DeVore had EVERY chance in the world to present himself as the alternative to Campbell, and has failed to gain any traction. His candidacy can ONLY serve ONE purpose right now, and that is to GUARANTEE that a RINO wins the nomination over an acceptable, though not perfect, Conservative candidate.

The fight right now is between an OPENLY Liberal Republican candidate and an acceptably Conservative candidate (Campbell vs. Fiorina). Had DeVore shown ANY life, I suspect Palin would have endorsed him as the alternative to Campbell, but he has not shown any such life. It’s over, we need to unite to STOP THE OPENLY LIBERAL CANDIDATE.

Palin is right to use her weight to stop RINO Campbell. In this case, that required waiting to see which Conservative alternative had the best chance to beat Campbell. When it proved to be Fiorina, she jumped into the fold on her behalf.

DeVore CANNOT WIN THIS NOMINATION anymore than what’s-his-face can win over Rand Paul and Trey Grayson in Kentucky. Stop bitching about Palin endorsing Conservative candidates who can WIN and defeat RINOs instead of endorsing somewhat more Conservative candidates who poll at Ralph Nader-like numbers. The end result will be a candidate better than the RINO running, and it is NOT preferable to GO DOWN WITH THE SHIP AND NOMINATE A LIBERAL by bleeding super-Conservative votes off from Conservative votes.

Fiorina is ACCEPTABLY Conservative and can win. DeVore can only serve to SINGLE_HANDEDLY hand Campbell the nomination and guarantee, and be PERSONALLY responsible for, another RINO in a General Election race.

Stop bitching that Palin isn’t endorsing your one-percenter and being as indifferent as you as the whether a 5% Conservative or an 85% Conservative wins the nod. Yes, your one-percenter might be 90% Conservative, and that’s better than 85% Conservative; but your one-percenter can’t win, and giving the 5% Conservative the nod in the name of “principle” is cutting-off your nose to spite your face.

This is NOT DeVore vs. two Liberals, it is an acceptably Conservative candidate and more Conservative candidate vs. a Liberal. VOTE AGAINST THE LIBERAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom line is that she feels it’s between Fiorina and Campbell and she feels Fiorina is more conservative. I’ve also heard that Sarah and Carly became friends during the
‘08 campaign.
