Please cite one of VP Quayle’s contributions to the National Security Counsel, other than sitting in a big chair and listening to the adults. Perhaps you are refering to his lead seat at the National Space Counsel?

I had left by then and have no idea what contributions he made to the first Bush administration. Having said that, it would be very odd for him to not have been a key player in that government, since most of his modern predecessors and every VP since were. Hell, the Left claims that Vice President Cheney was chief executive in all but name. No, I'm not saying that Dan Quayle is Dick Cheney, but I'm sure he wasn't a typical 19th Century VP, either.
