He opposes Obamacare and federal funding of abortion. If he becomes a RINO, we can always field a conservative candidate to replace him in 2012. That's good enough for me.
That's where I am. It's a 10th Amendment issue and the Feds have NO BUSINESS addressing at all.
Until, or unless, there's a Constitutional Amendment addressing abortion...I believe it rests squarely with the states.
Some will choose to allow this evil practice, some will not. Most would restrict it substantially.
Roe v Wade was HORRIBLE Constitutional law.
That said, if social conservatives make it their main issue, as is their choice, I wish they would address it in those terms. Overturn Roe by putting in place Judges who will see it as unconstitutional...and then fight the good fight in the state house.
It's a non-sequitor in most of the politics on the ground today. You need a President that will appoint the right judges...and you need a Senate that will approve those judges who will rule based on the CONSTITUTION, without regard for their personal beliefs on the matter.

Just about every candidate or elected Republican will have one area where they disappoint the people ready to scream “RINO!!”, but this isn’t the time to make some point, when the future of the Western World is literally on the line.
