This is by far one of the most amazing and saddest videos (audios) I have ever seen/heard. More than anything else, the following is exhibit A about lawful gun owners in America, particularly those who have used their weapons to defend themselves. Far from the gun-crazed, trigger happy racists the liberal antigun crowd would have you believe, they are really just regular folks who want to go about their business. The remorse in the woman's voice at the end of the video gave me goosebumps. And the dispatcher deserves a medal for being as supportive as she was of this brave woman defending herself and her home. It's a tragedy, no matter how you look at it. You can read the full story and hear the entire 34 minute 911 call here.

I feel bad for the woman having to kill a person, but she had to do what she had to do. The 911 operator was great.
You have to do what you gotta do.
That poor woman, she’ll never be the same after being forced to defend herself.
Whoever that 911 operator is, she most certainly does deserve a commendation for doing the right thing and not trying to browbeat the woman into letting herself be murdered.
A best case outcome to a tragic situation.
Just dang. What a situation to be forced into.
Chilling self defense ping
Wait a second. I do not have time to listen to the audio right now. The woman was on with 911 for 34 minutes? Where were the cops? Huh?
The lady had no choice. If the cops took 34 + minutes to get there - the real lesson is if you do not have a gun and you are going to rely on 911 then you are screwed or “graveyard dead.”
You guys know the drill.
The dead perp will become the victim and this woman will still be labeled as a 'gun-crazed, trigger happy' racist, regardless of the circumstances.
Please note that it took 20 minutes for the police to respond.
Just dang. I am from Oklahoma and use to go to Cushing 1-2 times a week to see customers. Just the nicest people anywhere.
Sorry, this woman had to go through that.
Not in OKlahoma. The believe in the right of self defense. Especially in the more rural areas of Cushing, Drumright, etc.
Her son is the Police Chief for the Shawnee tribe about 30 minutes away.
The audio brought tears to my eyes. I called my 15 yr old in to hear the tape. She got very sad as well.
The woman defending her home did well. I pray she gets over needed action.
Kind of proves the old saying, "when seconds count, the police are minutes away"
I hope this lady is okay, she sounded devastated.
At the first link is a short version, just over a minute long. It's more than enough to get the feel of the story.
Luckily for her se doesn’t live in New Mexico or she would be in the county lock-up!
Cushing is a small town. If she lives outside of town she could easily have been 15 miles from civilization. If the nearest response was Cushing police, I can see it taking a few minutes to gather up and head down to her house.
It’s more likely though that she was under county jurisdiction and the Payne County sheriff had to head out there. You would assume there would be Sheriff patrol in the general area, but if they’re all based out of Stillwater then yeah, easily 30 minutes, especially if she’s SE of Cushing.
The bottom line is even if you live 2 minutes away from police assistance, you need to be prepared to protect yourself because when they show up, somebody will have been a victim. This lady had thankfully come to terms with that when she moved out there, and knew that she had to be prepared to protect family someday.
Knowing what she was FORCED to do, praying to God for forgiveness afterward cause she did NOT want to do it...
Yeah... those ‘hateful’ CHRISTIANS who LUV their guns...
WHERE ARE THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA ON THIS?!?!?
The gun grabbers don't care. They believe that 'self-defense' means locking yourself in a safe room, dialing 911 and hoping the police get there in time to do something besides draw a chalk line around your dead ass.
I just listened to the entire 32 min call...32 minute response time?!?! WTF?!?!
