The State Department speaks out on the Nobel Peace Prize and slams President Bush in the process.
"From our standpoint, you know, we think that this gives us a sense of momentum when the United States has accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday.
It's good to know we have people in the State Department that condone that type of conduct toward a President. Someone should tell him that the State Department represents the United States and as an employee his job is to promote and protect our interests. An attack on any elected official from the United States is the same as attacking the country itself. He embarrasses himself, the country and the President with "cute" remarks to the press. There's no place for it in diplomacy.
Just so everyone knows, during the Clinton administration, Crowley was Special Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Affairs and served on the staff of the National Security Council. That means he was one of the guys that was responsible for letting Osama bin Laden get away from us. From 1996-1998 we had opportunities and they let him go. Sudan offered up the terrorist and data on his network. Clinton and his advisers didn't respond.
No one stepped forward to press the issue and now after the tragedy of 9/11 and 2 wars later, we are still paying the price of the Clinton Administration failure. Someone should throw a shoe at Phillip J. Crowley.

P.J. is one of HRC’s Butt-boys from the Center for American Progress. He’s a former USAF Colonel (rear-area pogue, not aircrew).
Who here thinks O’bonghit will make it through 2010 without having a shoe thrown at him now?
Any takers?
I wonder if it would be unkind of me to suggest that I would like the terrorists that are being encouraged to act against the United States seek out crowley’s house first?
Hmm, I’ll have to contemplate this awhile...
I’ve got a smelly old Chuck with his name on it.
Can anyone imagine such a comment coming from the State Department under President Bush or Sec of State Rice?
But now we have the former TRAITOR IN CHIEF (Clinton’s) wife’s pet traitor Crowley endorsing the attacks on former President Bush (not just the shoes but all of it)....with this snide remark.
Crowley should be fired immediately and barred from all further federal government positions.
Not holding breath.
Hey Crowley. Mumia Abu-Jamal, cop killer, has had accolades and awards tossed his way too. Are you equating Obamia with a cop killer?
Yep - 2010 fight needs to start NOW.
