I’m rather surprised he hasn’t attempted to make a move up by now, to Governor or Senator (Governor being a better bet, since the Dems have far better luck with winning that office). After all, how long does Carol Marinovich intend on waiting for Moore to retire ?

I'm not sure he's got the fire anymore. He's 65 and has had a nice run as a Congressman. He's really devoted to his grandchildren and he's felt bad that he hasn't been around for them. If he wins this time I could see him retire in 2012. Parkinson is the one who wants to be a Senator so bad he can taste it, and I'd give it 60/40 or 70/30 that he announces for Brownback's seat.
