Of course, you're the Slick Willard posterior-crawler who seemed obsessed with talking about comic books and "Dr." Spock (the Communist baby specialist, for whom, I'm sure, you're a great admirer of) the other day, and complaining how FR is so terrible because we tell the truth on your great big Socialist idol. And this is why Obama is in the White House. There is no one pure enough to make every conservative happy. We're more than three years away from the next Pres election, but already conservatives are ripping into this potential candidate or another. If Jesus himself were nominated, he wouldn't be acceptable to a large number of conservatives!!!!

This is why the Democrats are in power. They're united on all the big issues, and we're not! They're evil, yes, but they overlook small differences because, ultimately, they're on the same side re: abortion, gay "rights", and much, much more. (BTW, I happen to believe there's a spiritual force that unites them, but that's for another thread!)

On our side, our differences divide us, often to the point where we see the world only in black and white and denigrate anyone who tries to find a middle ground.

We have more than one Republican "party" within The Party, and that's why we haven't been winning elections. The social conservatives, of which I am one, refuse to vote for someone who doesn't have a 100% pure record on their pet positions, and there just aren't that many viable candidates with that type of record! So, we get Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and now Obama.

Probably our world is headed toward a one world government and socialism. In order to be a part of a New World Order, there really is no choice but for America to become socialist, and I happen to believe that a one world government is part of God's plan for the end times. Maybe that's why I'm more of a pragmatist. I'd rather see a decent person in the White House who, like GWB, loves his or her country but may still be a globalist and moves our country in that direction. Obama is a communist, and I despise him because of what he's doing to the country of MY birth. Single-handedly, he may very well ruin our country, and that is so very, very evil to me, that I'd vote for a RINO if it meant holding back the dark, hopeless curtain of communism, at least for a time.

I hope someone comes along soon who will be all things to all conservatives, but I doubt it. There will be SOMETHING in their record or about their looks or their family or their last speech, and conservatives will begin picking them apart. Maybe we're all conservatives because we're idealists.

I'm tired and will step down from my soap box. :o)

Purity is one thing, but you can't be a Socialist and proclaim to be a Conservative, as Slick Willard continues to do. There's just one requisite for being a Conservative political leader, and that's that you actually are one. Lying about being one doesn't make you one. Words are cheap, especially where Slick Willard is concerned, most of us who give a damn are concerned with actions. You don't walk the walk, and you can hit the bricks.
