Otis Pike’s boy ? Pike is still alive (turns 88 next month), he was the 1st district (Suffolk, L.I.) Congressman from 1961-1979. He was somewhat of a Conservative Dem, until Watergate forced him and most of the other Dems leftward (got a 50 from the ACU in the first two years they started rating in 1971-72, dropped to a “5” by the polarized 1974, back up to a “30” for his last 2 years in 1977-78). No NY Democrat has gotten over a 30 rating since 2002.
Awesome that Chester County will know Schroeder, though I wish we could have somebody that’ll have a little more pull in the Montgomery Co. part of the seat, which voted against Gerlach every single time and has made sure Gerlach never got bigger than a 52%-48% win districtwide, despite a four-term career.
