A What If..
Currently, our Elected Elite get to set the salaries and benefit packages of office holders. Those that get elected MUST draw all that salary, get all those benefits, and full pensions.
What would our Elected Governments {local, State & Federal} look like IF the candidates were required to state their salary, benefit & pension requirements on the Ballots? It could be Expressed as percentages of the Legislated maximum packages.
In Every Other non-union shop, the Salary and Benefit Demands of the qualified applicants are considered , before selecting the next New Hire.
Each Candidate's demands could be printed on the ballots, Primary & General. They could be expressed as % of legislated maximums
If a talented new Candidate wanted only 50% of the Max salary , only Health Benefits, & Zero pension, was ran against an Incumbent that was demanding Full Pay, ALL Benefits & MAX pension; Would it swing a Primary?
If a 3rd Party candidate made it to the General Election ballot & was requesting only 1% ,1% & no pension, could that candidate cost an incumbent like congress critter Pelosi her Seat?
Both Teddy and FDR were good at finding Dollar-a-Year men, to serve in Government. Perot wanted to re-introduce that ethic.
We are, after all, hiring these Public Servants. Shouldn't We [the voters] know their demands? Shouldn't the Citizenry have a Right to elect the Budget Candidate?
