I was saying earlier — “But, at the same time, it does seem that there is a certain portion of the Republicans that may be giving mere lip service to some of these sayings, because I note that even here, on Free Republic, there are conservatives and Republicans who want to kick God out of the Party because they perceive God as a liability and Christians causing Republicans to lose because of their narrow views.”
—
And we see that all the time on Free Republic. Just for an example, in talking about education and schools and evolution (for example) and teaching that there is an alternative to the false and very faulty theory of Evolution (which supporters of that theory basically say it’s a *fact* beyond any dispute) — you can see the sheer disgust that some FReepers have for any other FReeper who may actually “believe what God says”...
The following is a quote from another FReeper, but I’m leaving out the name. I’m sure if you wanted to google any part of the phrase, you could find out, but this is from an actual thread here on Free Republic. AND..., there’s *no end* to this very same type of thing on Free Republic.
The fact that in 2009, in the most scientifically advanced society on the planet, we have a large group of people that want to teach their religious beliefs in a scientific classroom is frightening with respect to America’s ability to continue to be a leader, rather than a follower in scientific innovation.
What’s even more disturbing is that the GOP seems handcuffed and beholden to such idiocy and that some people label such fantasy as “conservative ideology”. When did the philosophy of Adam Smith, Edmund Burke and Russel Kirk get hijacked by such lunacy?
And there you have it — a goodly number of Freepers believing that we’ve been *hijacked* by such *lunacy*...
It’s not only Obama who may want to “lock you away” — but there will be a bunch of conservative FReepers helping Obama, too... (throwing the Christians to the lions... LOL...).
Evolution is a fact ... “SSSSSSST!”
All FReepers are Biblically literate ... “SSSSSSSST!”
I’m gonna start calling you the FReep-whisperer... LOL...
And that's where I say they have to be right first and a conservative second. Of course the 'Politics of Identity' dictate my side BE right, even if they're not. And therein, lies the issue. ~huh.
"So, thats where Ill get hammered on these things."
So be it. Ya pays your two bits, ya takes your shots.
"There are 'conservatives' who dont like God running the show here..."
Yea and homosexuals running academia, entertainment, *news* {spit} etc ad infinitum.
Tell me something I don't know, then let us all stop the infighting, close quarters, face the buggers & let 'em have it.
I mean I *noticed* the butch dikes aren't locked in mortal combat with the M-Type faeries. Get it?
Oh and forgetabout Romney, will ya.
Nothing against Mormons, live and let live y'know.
However if my saying so makes me a bigot, so be it. Been called worse.
Psssst, ST? *Landru* can and has taken a punch. Never whined. Ever. Nope. I hit back. Harder. ;^)
"[and Im talking about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, of the Bible, and Jesus Christ of Christianity and not 'God in general' and of the *cult groups*...]"
Then we're talking about the same thing, righteousness is Godliness.
Be careful you don't, in the final analysis become your own worst enemy, 'k?
OBTW I've *2* neighbors who began flying their Christian flag above the stars & stripes. Hard to tell if they're D or R. Y'know?
Buuuuut they did inspire *me*.
I began flying my Gadsden flag above *my* stars & stripes day after the election.
I paid for the right, 8 years worth and more than that?
They KNOW who I am and what I am.
Yup.
Not necessarily.
Ther're at least *2* relative "unknown" Republicans I've heard speak and either would make excellent choices for a variety of reasons. Best of which they're relatively unknown; hence, the disloyal opposition w/could be caught totally flat footed.
Takes tons of time to compose a smear, y'know.
As for Sarah?
I thought while, during and throughout the filthy bugger's smear attacks, "What'd she do to deserve this?".
The answer came to me in a wish she go back home, to AK.
Continue doing what she's done so well, be with her family, hunt, fish, laugh often and allot and generally enjoy herself and life to the 9s.
I lived in AK, married Mrs. Landru there, Sarah would regret coming to the filthy slime-hole called DC to her dieing day. Is *why* zerO has found himself a new *home*, don'tcha know? Only place on Earth less despicable then Chicago, would be DC.
IF Sarah Palin came to the lower 48 in pursuit of POTUS or even VP now, she'd need her head examined and I a hair piece after scratching it all clean off in total wonderment.
There's a place for Sarah, later.

I know I already posted this above, but because of the comment about our situation in America, I thought it deserved another post.
I was afraid this day would come, and it appears to have arrived. And with that being the case, we have to appeal to God on the matter, since this is from His hands and is His judgment.
And it relates to three issues, abortion, homosexuality and dividing the land of Israel. The U.S. will be destroyed, by the hand of God, on these three issues.
It would appear that God *has* abandoned America and has put it under His severe judgment. And the question now is what to do now that God is judging America?

John McTernan joins Jan to discuss judgment on America. That is a sad reality. How did it happen? What forms is it taking? A clue is the worst of the financial meltdown all happened on days correlated to U.S. activity in Israel. Also the gay agenda and abortion anger God and McTernan and Jan explain why. Is there any hope, what can you do, and how should we pray? Also commentary on overall America-Israel relations and the pressure on Israel that will be unrelenting and unprecedented. http://www.johnmcternan.name
MCCOTTLE OR WE’RE THROTTLED!
MCCOTTLE OR WERE THROTTLED!
Some men have worked quite hard to control fear, you're speaking to one. And it can be done -- try it, sometime.
Fear has been eliminated from my lexicon, out of necessity; moreover, I find it extremely difficult to respect any man, of any stripe, who does.
Just a FYI.
"...and it appears to have arrived."
Perhaps, but it could get worse.
I'll reserve the "arrived" conclusion for when they're at my door --lots of 'em-- armed and with a straight jacket to cart me off for regrooving.
'Til then they can pound sand and yes I would, will and have got in their mugs and told 'em [that] to their face(s).
None of that *passive-aggressive* bullcocka, here.
"And with that being the case, we have to appeal to God on the matter, since this is from His hands and is His judgment."
~huh
WTH
Truly faithful HAVE appealed to God, for crying out loud.
Can't nor won't speak for anyone else; but, God's spoken to me. Precisely what would you guess He said? What would you guess this fight's all about? The time spent, effort expended, and passion roused is all about? What?
You, me, US...we are The Sword of the Lord, pal.
Look, some unsolicited advise: Get off the Internet. For a few hours each day. Get with the program by *doing* something -- anything.
You'll find you'll not have the *time* to play Nostradamus to an unknown audience in cyberspace, my friend, and find a new deep meaning and purpose even IF penultimately a losing cause, ending in ultimate defeat.
Honest.
*That* is what men do, or should; which, defines yet one more facet of the *problem* the Republic faces. No matter.
"And it relates to three issues, abortion, homosexuality and dividing the land of Israel."
Bullshit.
While those 3 *issues* rate near the top, there're many others that're equally weighted. These issues have been skillfully *linked* together, like a chain, for obvious reasons.
The problem?
Locate the weakest link and *break* it.
You find the weak link on your lonesome, now you know what to do.
Americans of my vintage could tell you all about the other peer issues day-in and day-out, but what'd be the sense?
You have it all figured out, don't need any other POV.
So be it.
"The U.S. will be destroyed, by the hand of God, on these three issues."
Awwwww geshhh.
IF America's destroyed the reason will likely have as much to do with righteous people doing nothing as it may God returning to snuff out one of His small pieces of ash floating about in His cosmos.
God needn't do a thing.
All He need do is leave us to ourselves.
Stop trying to speak for our God, please.
While I trust Him, explicitly, you're --& myself and/or any other wo/man-- another matter.
Mrs Nuvark?
Should you decide you'd rather I not post to you or your thread(s), fine.
I'd understand.
Just drop me a PM and it's done, one call, that's all!. ;^)

Maybe later Jo, maybe not. ;^)
Have a spectacular day in any event, do something fun.
Just do [it] in the real world, the other simply doesn't count for much, a'tall. :^)
Well, that’s a lot you wrote..., but I’ll try to respond in a somewhat more abbreviated manner than my usual practice... LOL...
“I was afraid this day would come...” is a colloquialism for “I knew this would happen...” [and that being based upon the knowledge of what God’s word says about judging nations]
Focusing on an individual word in a colloquialism misses the meaning of the phrase.
—
For the next part, when evil and calamity and oppression and like-things come — one can either focus directly on the thing in front of them — or — one can focus on God who brings these things.
I prefer to go to the root cause and talk about the One who sent them, and not the actual evil or calamity in and of itself — whether it be far away from me or at my front door.
Since it’s God who brings these things (whether they are in the form of man, or finances or military power or governments or whatever) — it pays to focus right back on God and what His Word says. God’s own will automatically do that, instead of directly focusing in on the circumstances, themselves — and that’s exactly what God want us to do (focus in on Him...).
And it’s more than clear, that the Bible says that God is the one who controls all these things and brings these things down on a nation.
Secular viewpoints on these matters simply say that they are a consequence of “cause and effect” and if they fix this or cure that — they will solve the problem.
God says that *He* is the cause of these things, in order to get us to repent of our evil ways.
—
And when I say that we have to appeal to God in these matters, you’re finding, right now as we speak, that more and more pastors are starting to tell their congregations that these are the judgment of God upon a wicked nation, such as ours. And it was a while back that Billy Graham said (it’s been attributed to him, anyway), “If God doesn’t judge America, then He will owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.”
I think what we’ll find is that we’ll be like “Lot” (and his family) in Sodom and Gomorrah, where God says, “I have to take you out of there, so I can destroy it!”
—
In terms of “Nostradamus”..., well, I would not equate God’s word in what He says He will do to nations (like the United States, and other nations in the world) when they violate key things and the kinds of judgments that God does carry out in this world.
No, it’s not the same thing. Nostradamus doesn’t hold a candle next to God’s word and its warnings and coming judgments. No..., those are very true, and they will happen as God says they will.
—
In terms of those three things mentioned for judgment, the dividing of the land of Israel ranks at the very top. That’s one that true Christians recognize at the top. I don’t want to list quotes showing how God ranks that at the very top, so I’ll just leave it at the fact that true Christians recognize it from their reading in the Bible (the ample quotes are there, but I don’t want to fill up the space here with them...).
Then secondly, there’s not too many things that are sins that God has destroyed whole cities like Sodom and Gomorrah for. And in the world’s history, no governments have ever allowed “homosexual marriage” to be sanctioned by the state. Given the what happened with Sodom and Gomorrah, I would say that the U.S. is right behind them, just about this present tine of our existence. That’s right behind dividing the land of Israel.
And then, the murder of innocents (at the count of over 45 million, sanctioned by the government) — I am reminded of Jesus’ saying about the “millstone” around the neck of one who would harm one of these little ones.
So, that’s right up there with the other two.
What we find out is that many things that we, in our secular world find “important” is not what God finds important. And certainly those things which are violated that we may think are more important, God does not find as important as those three, for which He is going to judge the nation.
And actually, the judgments have been going on for quite a while now. It’s been pretty well documented how those judgment correlate to one thing or another thing that the government does in these areas.
That’s why these people are speaking out to let our society know what is really happening.
—
And so, in closing, all I can say is that if you can’t see the hand of God in these judgments, I can’t help you too much more. Perhaps God will help bring home the realization to you and help you realize that these are done from His hands and His judgments.
I’ll leave it up to God to show you, and from what His word says about these things.
We have a very active and involved God and His hands are in the affairs of all of mankind and in our country too — for the good and the bad.
See My Tagline.
Yep, that’s #1 all right...
Then destroying cities (after the righteous are taken out) is #2 I would say...
And then, talking about “millstones” around a person’s neck — well..., that’s gotta be #3...
:-)
—
But, aside from all that, I think it’s difficult for people to *really understand* how involved God is in all that goes on, and that nothing escapes his attention.
I know from a book written by (I think, if I remember right) Francis Schaeffer, he talks about Christians in their “upper story” and “lower story” existence, in terms of how they relate to God and understand how God works in our world and in our lives.
He said that Christians oftentimes have an “upper story” existence, relating to God, in the things we do in church and Wednesday meeting and/or other church functions and Bible Studies. But, the rest of the time, in our “everyday world” — we’re in a “lower story” existence and we leave God where He was before, in that “upper story” — and thus “out of our daily lives” while we deal with things *ourselves* because “we’re in charge” — doncha know... LOL..
I try to work on having God in the lower story, too..., every day, every hour, every minute of the day, in every thing and everywhere and decisions and activities and so on.
I mean, there are angels around us, all the time, and demons and the evil angels, too. God does put “hedges” around those who are His, as He did with Job. And at times, we also make openings in those hedges that God puts around us, to open them up to those evil beings (and they are *beings* with intelligence and action).
These aren’t imaginary beings — or — “constructs of language” to indicate “problems” that we have (as many think that’s all it is... just a “way of speaking”). No, these are real beings, with a real God, interacting all the time, and in all things that we do.
The Word of God tells us that. That’s our authority for *knowing* that these things go on. We don’t need anything else to let us know that is true.
But, in my case, I’ve even had the hands of two angels, in my two hands, walking me along the sidewalk, in real-life, broad-daylight, bringing me back to my mother, when I was a kid. So, I’ve had a wee-little bit of a further confirmation of what we only need the Word of God to know is true. One of these days, I’m sure I’ll get to talk to those two angels and find out who they were, in bringing me back to my mother, one day in Houston.
And this sort of thing doesn’t confer upon anyone any more knowledge or wisdom than is contained in the Bible itself. So, I would only point to the Bible for the absolute confirmation of those things that are going on around us, with the unseen beings, surrounding us every day of our lives and watching things and interceding and protecting, or even, with some, bringing calamity, too.
I just can’t impress enough on people that we’ve got to get rid of this “upper story/lower story” idea of God, and rather *know* that He’s involved in everything that we do — even down to the second-by-second things that we’re involved in — and that He’s *active* and overtly intercedes in everything that you do, either to confirm and help or oppose and block you (many times, with wrong decisions that we might make, too...).
People in this country, for the most part, act like God is “up there” and they are “down here” and they are “running the show” — but little do they know that God says that’s not the case. At least His word says that, whether people want to believe it or not.
God is “running the show” in order to *very specifically* bring about certain things, which will show who He is and what He does and His power and glory in the world — which will be told in the ages to come. That’s one of the “distinctives” (of understanding) for dispensationalism, by the way, in knowing that God acts in different ways in different dispensations in order to show different things that He illustrates to us. So, it’s not mankind who is “running the show” but it’s God who is “running the show” for His own purposes. It’s only the ignorant that think that it’s “us” who are running the show and God is “watching”. All we are doing is showing which side we’re on; while God does all things in this world.
Here’s an interesting quote from a FReeper, posted here on Free Republic in the last couple of days... (again I’m not giving names because I’m not trying to cause trouble with any one particular individual, but simply illustrating the overall position of many on Free Republic in regards to Christians who *actually believe* that God means what He says in the Bible, and exactly as He says it...).
The quote...
I mean, we all know and are aware that the political right is a big mish-mash of groups- many of whom dont have that much in common with each other. For my part- deity worshippers (christians) make my skin crawl. But I recognise that until something better comes along Im stuck with having them on the same side, politically speaking, as I am. I also dont like getting associated with the creationist nutjobs- but there you go, it is a necessary evil in order to keep the democrats at bay.
Note, the “values” that stem from Christian faith and belief and knowing that God is active in our affairs (even that the founding fathers believe in our “Creator God” — that’s all a *necessary evil*...
Well, let me tell you, Christians are not wanted here, in “conservative-ville” by a certain segment of the conservatives. They *abhor* God and the fact that He is our “Creator God” , no less...
True.
Though JimRob prefers that all Conservatives play nice and fight for Conservative causes in concert as much as workable.

Why aren’t FReepers who are obviously anti-Christian banned?
Blasphemy is far worse than personal insults and crude speech. MO
Hi Quix...
You were saying — Though JimRob prefers that all Conservatives play nice and fight for Conservative causes in concert as much as workable.
—
Here is a “political platform” of a certain group of FReepers who “play here” on this board. The following are the *real political goals* of these people here.
I thank the FReeper “ansel12” for clarifying and listing these political positions and goals for everyone else to see. [they are not the goals of ansel12, but merely him stating what the other FReepers’ positions are].
Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through political borders.
Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.
Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.
Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.
Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.
Advertising drugs, prostitution, pornography; zero restrictions.
Military Strength; minimal capabilities.
I don’t know about other Christians, but I really don’t see too much “cooperation” here, from a Christian perspective with people who have those kinds of political goals — and also — espouse them here in Free Republic.
Oh..., and thanks, ansel12, for listing those out for us..., “very interesting”. It’s like I was saying before about this political platform — it’s more like “hedonism run amok” more than anything else...
And, once again, I’m not naming any names of who holds to this, because the purpose of this post is more to make people *aware* that there are these kinds of “ideas” and “people promoting them” actually going on — on this board — more than anything else.
Hey, just a follow-up here Quix...
You were saying — “True. Though JimRob prefers that all Conservatives play nice and fight for Conservative causes in concert as much as workable.”
—
It would pay for people to be aware of Jim Robinson’s view on Romney. While I have views on Romney based in him belonging to a non-Christian cult group (i.e., Mormonism...), Jim Robinson has views based upon what he says below...
—
Unlike Romneys National Council for a New America, Free Republic is a conservative site!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2243314/posts
by Jim Robinson
If there is anyone here who doesnt understand why we cannot support a slick socialist politician like Mitt Romney, God help you, but youre on the wrong website. We went through this with the abortionist, gay rights activist, illegal alien supporting, gun grabbing Rudy Giuliani until someone created another website call WAnkers for Rudy and they all flew the coop. Hopefully, before too much FReeper blood is shed, someone will create a WAnkers for Romney site and we can be left to fight the good fight as we see fit!
FR is not for everyone!
Not all so-called conservative causes are equal. I do remember, too — the “Rudy Giuliana wars” on Free Republic and they were vicious... and a lot of people got sacked.
My views on “conservative causes” is that they are an outgrowth of Christianity — as it is worked out in a political sphere. To me Christianity is the basis for true conservatism.
BUT, as we can see (by some of the prior posts) not all “so-called conservatives” believe that Christianity has *any part at all* on conservative causes — and to me, some of the positions espoused are not even recognizable as conservative causes (at least not to my eyes, anyway...).
That’s why I take Christianity as a “first position” and the other political stuff as *secondary*...
Not about to try and speak FOR the FR Boss.
It IS, however, a somewhat reasonable goal to ask all conservatives to fight together for conservative causes.
It’s been a noble idea these many years. And, we’ve done a lot of good together thanks to JimRob’s courageous, tireless, spunky leadership.
In these rapidly progressing END TIMES, it is highly likely that FR will end up being one of the most valiant and impactful organizations for God, Good and Country left standing longer than most.
It’s not as though we are such a ragingly overwhelming majority that we can casually turn our noses up at the ‘out-group’ unwashed amongst us. We need all the help we can get.
I agree, some folks seem quite out of place. Yet, it’s been a tradition to keep some mice around just for the cats to toy with.
Jim has repeatedly stated his affinities re prayer, God, etc. He even has the shocking Biblical notion to expect Christians to treat each other like Christians hereon.
Shoot, if we did , more, some of the unwashed amongst us might learn something useful.
Nevertheless, if I understand him remotely well, Jim is not that kindly disposed to having trollish traitors hereon stirring up trouble and demoralizing the troops. If anyone has significant evidence of such, let Jim and/or Admin Mod know.
FR was not designed to be and would not function best as a homogeneous band of lock-step, group-think anythings.
Conservatives, if anything, ARE the opposite. And the creativity of that diversity is one of our strengths.
The liberal oligarchy globalist idiots speak of diversity while trying to mush out homogonized, cookie-cutter robots akin to OThuga.
We do diversity from the inside out. We’re a bit like Jews. Get 4 of us together and you have a dozen opinions on one issue.
Yes, I can easily get annoyed with some of the God/Christian haters quite quickly.
However, it’s all I can do to handle the deliberately destructive naysaying trolls on the UFO and END TIMES threads by trying to annoy them with enough of their own stuff back in their faces that they leave the threads alone. I have no interest in trying to deal with any other kind of trolls. Really don’t like bothering even with those.
And, Scripture exhorts us to pray for our enemies. Prayer has seemed to have more impact on some trolls on the END TIMES threads than anything else.
IGNORING is also a good strategy—though hard for many of us to do.
Thanks for the honor of your ping.
I don’t know if FR will become leaner and meaner in the months ahead, or not. I still tend to think we need all the decent help we can get.
Double agent traitors will likely be ZOTTED when discovered . . . as usual.
Thanks for the honor of your pings.
