Elect Michael Steele -RNC Chair- URGENT for RNC
Team Sarah ^ | 11/30/2008 | Alec

Posted on 11/30/2008 8:52:44 PM PST by coolpillow

There are 168 members who will be voting to decide the next RNC Chairman at the RNC Winter Meeting on January 20, 2009. There are three members from each state who are able to vote, the state Chairman, the state National Committeeman and the state National Committeewoman. To locate the names of who your local state members are, perform the following steps:

Go to the National GOP Website - State Parties page:

and select the state in which you live, which will bring up all three voting member names for the state selected. You can pick a new state by selecting "State Parties" from the menu bar.

There are 50 states plus DC, include also Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Three members voting from each location makes a total of 168 members who will decide our next RNC Chairman.

To support Michael Steele, contact your state Chairman, state National Committeeman and your state National Committeewoman and tell them to support Michael Steele for RNC Chairman at the RNC Winter Meeting in January 2009.

We have to take back the Republican Party, starting with the election of Michael Steel as head of the RNC in 2010.

Then- it's on to a Sarah Palin VICTORY in 2012 !!!

Why is it 'urgent' n00b?

I can think of plenty of other potential RNC chairs that are

a.) more conservative, and

b.)have more experience.

Would RNC for Life weigh in please!

The Republican party is broken, as long as the
RINOs rule.

Time for a real 3rd party which will stand un-compromised,
for LIFE!!!

I like Steele but wondering why Team Sarah is posting this plea. From what I know, the SC Chair, Katon Dawson, is Palin’s biggest supporter.

I don’t know enought about Steele to know if he’s the right man for this job or not. Can he learn and borrow from the Obama/Dean/DNC playbook in order to use modern technology (and no, flyers in the mailbox are not it? Can he raise a gazillion dollars from GOP donors who may have lost their way? Does he know who Ronald Reagan was, and why he won? Is he capable of tapping into some of the best idea people like Newt Gingrich? And can he drive a successful retooling of the party around conservative principles?

If yes, they I’d support him. But how many of use know him, or any other candidate for the job, or have any voice in the selection process for that matter. We’ve basically got to trust the RNC to do the right thing, and boy, does that feel like a stretch.

I read a post the other day saying that Steele is a) for affirmative action, and, b)against some gun rights.

Can you tell me if this is true?

Uh huh. We've already seen one inexperienced candidate for high office lauded, praised and exalted because of his 'persona'.

A one term Lt Governor and a failed Senatorial candidate does not equate to having the political gravitas to lead the GOP back to prominence.

How about a member of the original Reagan revolution, who came to Washington in 1980 with Reagan, a former Army Ranger with combat experience, a Congressman with 26 years of national security expertise, the strongest advocate of secured borders (and NO amnesty for illegals) in the GOP, whose conservative credentials are above reproach, and knows how Washington works, and who the key players are?

Sound good?

Look no further than retiring Congressman Duncan Hunter of California, former chair of the Hiouse Armed Services Committee.

He would run circles around Steele in that post.

I accept that he is good conservative but is he ready to articulate his values to a new young group of voters and make them to take a second look at Republican Party? We need leaders who can be charismatic as well as solid conservative.

I hope the RNC will select someone that owns well-read copies of “Atlas Shrugged” [Ayn Rand] & “State of Fear” [Michael Crichton].

No wonder the Republican Party is down the tubes. Who wants to vote for a bunch of loser Mr. Nice Guys. This ain’t no joke kids. They are playing the permanent prevent defense. The only thing these RINOS are going to prevent is sucess. They seem to be happy with minority status.

You mean 'charismatic' like the idol worshipping, mindless fools who flocked after Comrade 0bama? A conservative version of the Communist 'cult of the personality'?

Uh uh. The GOP will NOT succeed at reinventing itself by making the equivalent of an affirmative action choice for it's chairman, a chairman with only marginally greater experience than 0bama himself.

Duncan Hunter is not a showhorse, he is a WORKhorse. And his record on getting the job done for the 26+ years he served his district in the House (re-elected EVERY time with unassailable margins of victory I might add) speaks for itself. We need a proven leader with the experience and record of accomplishment that Duncan Hunter possesses.

The GOP will rise to prominence again ONLY by shedding this damnable RINO-virus and returning to the values of Reagan conservatism that are as valid and timeless today, as they were when Reagan was giving 'The Speech' as Barry Goldwater was nominated at the GOP Convention of '64 in the Cow Palace in San Francisco.

There is no better choice for RNC Chairman than Duncan Hunter, IF restoring conservative Reagan principles to the GOP is the desired objective.

As I understand it he is totally retired from public life.

I am not at all convinced that Duncan Hunter would refuse one final ‘call to duty’ if asked. He is a patriot first, although I will be among the first to agree that if anyone has ‘earned the right, to call it a night’, it is the good Congressman.

One thing I have learned over the years is that if you have to draft somebody for a political office, they don’t want it enough to do a good job.

You mean, for example, somebody like George Washington?
