I’m proud of my country. Why wouldn’t I be? Because 52% of VOTERS (not the population of the nation, but maybe 1/5 of the entire population) were taken in by a snakeoil salesman?

Good grief! Can we have a ‘vanities only’ section added to FR?

America was a great country and has done good in an evil world being based on biblical ethics. I am proud of my country but despise the political elites who destroy our constitution and the marxist left as well as the foolish liberal run GOP and RNC.
We conservatives need a new conservative party , no liberals allowed, and should remember it is impossible to convert a corrupt political party. This election proved that liberal lite does not work and I truly wonder how many illegals voted and how many people of the left voted more than once.

Ahh, yes, another of the vaunted, sacred “independent voters”.

Beyond everything, you may not agree with the outcome of this or that election, but the system of democracy is the best ever devised because it does give the people the government they want. And later they can change it.

Winston Churchill is one of the great leaders of history and how he rallied his people to overcome the Germans will be remembered as long as humans exist. Yet in the election of 1945, without any hostile media and while the war was not yet won, the people who lived through those dark days voted him out of office.

Most democracies on average change the ins and outs every decade. In the long run, it benefits them in that it invigorates the society in a way that never happens in one-party states. It would have been nice if the first black president had been a class guy whom everyone could respect and not a “charlatan” in the words of Eagleburger, but it didn’t happen; but the people did speak, as they did in 1945 in the UK.

Interestingly, my Italian/American friend...dual citizenship, but her heart lies in Italy...is a racist. She’ll tell you, quietly, that what’s wrong with this country starts and ends with broken borders and black people. Yet she voted for Obama. Why? Because she wanted socialized medicine. She and her husband pay $800 plus a month for coverage, and this cuts into their hefty vacation fund. She’d like us to pick up the tab for their aches and pains.

I wonder what she’ll have to say in the coming months as Obama trots out his Marxist plans. (She denies he’s a Marxist, but then she refuses to see any warts on the Great One.) And she thinks Hitler wasn’t really all that bad.

I hold that life is like a wheel. Sometimes we're on the upper position, others we're on the lower position. I still have trust on the American System. This is how I see it. Eight or Four years ago, people on the other side were also feeling what we feel today. They worked hard, and the system allowed them to take the power. I still believe that we, too, will be in power again.

As for 0bama, just look at Dubya. Eight, four years ago, so many people loved him. Today, how many Freepers actually hate him?

Juan McAmnesty didn't lose because of Sarah Palin, Sarah Palin lost because of John MeCain!

I think McCain getting almost half the vote of the nation still says alot about many in this country.

McCain fought media bias at its worse, a staggering economy, an unpopular war, and the constant drumbeat of bashing President Bush for eight years.

I continue to be proud of my country, and those that voted for McCain.

Buck up. Let's continue to serve our country with pride and distinction. Always remember that God is still in charge.

Peace and blessings to you!

I feel the same way my friend. McCain would have put this country back on course and kept it safe. Unfortunately, the media and Hollywood has brainwashed this man down 1/2 the country and this may be a new pattern in future elections...a very dangerous game. We must move on and look towards the future and the rebirth of a new GOP. We also need to give this man a chance even though deep inside of me I wish he is a total failure. Have faith my friend, good American values always prevails.

I am VERY proud of my coutry, my sentiments are reflected in Lee Greenwood’s song. Now I have a different opinion about some of the craven INHABITANTS of my country. I feel they need an “ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT” and will eventually get one, it’s always been the case in the past.
