Conservative Republicans in Texas should be very worried. Our population is exploding - not only from the continued flow of illegals to our three major Sanctuary Cities of Houston, Dallas and San Antonio - but also because of a large influx of people from the north and east parts of the U.S. who also bring a different kind of garbage in the form of their liberal ideas with them. Austin is becoming over-the-top liberal. Both presidential candidates court the Latino vote and want to make them all voting citizens. Cornyn should win this year - I wouldn’t take bets on Hutchison’s seat when it comes up for election next time around. Members of the old Republican guard are aging and I don’t see many stepping up to take their place. Dark days ahead!
I respectfully disagree. Although there has been an influx in the hispanic population, there are very few candidates who can motivate them to show up on election day. Additionally, there are a significant amount of College Republican / Young Republican groups sprouting up and in existance across the state. I expect Texas to stay red for a while.
