The Pelosi/Reid disconnect is astonishing, really. They are demanding that the president release the oil in the reserve, thus decreasing prices by increasing supply, yet they spittle out that drilling and increasing the inventory/supply will not relieve the pressure on prices! It is astonishing that the American people have such a dedication to these lying bastard democrats.

It certainly is. It's amazing that anyone can support them when their arguments are logically at odds.

Last night someone gave a very cogent explanation of why using the SPR would put upward pressure on oil prices. I'll go see if I can find it because he said it much better than I can.

Here it is. It's a good thread too.

The Dems are between a rock and a hard place right now. If they keep obstructing drilling and other energy policies the voters will be mad as hornets at them in Nov. If they allow legislation that approves of more drilling and exploration that will likely bring the price of oil down significantly and quickly revealing how right Republicans have been about it. It will be pretty obvious that "speculators" and the evil Big Oil companies weren't raising prices. Also bad for Nov. : )
