Seems that maybe Fred knew what he was doing, all along. Crossed fingers here.

I’m a supporter of Fred, but do we really need a Fred surge post every 25 minutes?

Just asking here..

Let's see what Iowans really think after all the hoopla and groveling.

Heard that only about 125,000 to 150,000 actually participate in the caucus. Ain't that big of a deal.

Im being a little cynical here but... (Putting on tin foil hat) I am a Huckabee supporter but I also like Fred and I want him to do well. What would be terrible is if the Fred surge isn’t big but just takes away enough votes from Huckabee to give Romney the victory in Iowa. If Romney wins Iowa, he will almost certainly win the nomination, especially if Obama wins as well. Much of McCain’s support comes from independents, many of whom would vote in the Dim primary if it looked like Hillary could be beaten so Romney would probably win NH easily.

In my cynicism, I am thinking that Rush et al want Romney to win but realize that Huckabee supporters will never vote for Mitt. The strategy would be to tear down Huckabee and offer his supporters an alternative, Fred! If enough Huckabots, who are now having doubts, switch to Fred, then Romney could take Iowa by a decent margin, propelling him to the nomination. If Rush et al wanted to really help Fred, they would go after Mitts liberal past as hard as they have gone after Huckabee.

Thats just my paranoid cynical theory(taking off tinfoil..)

If there is a Fred surge, I hope it is bigger than expected with at least a second place finish, otherwise it will only guarantee a Mitt nomination.

I don't know.. I've actually convinced a few of Fred supporters to caucus for Duncan Hunter... The lack of fire in the belly is contagious to his supporters (and I don't apologize for saying it -- my explanation for why is best found at: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1947470/posts ).

Meanwhile, the fact that Duncan Hunter is practically unknown spills over to me and lets me be as stealthy a ninja :-)
