It is great to see Fred getting such a huge endoresment. The GOP needs to see the top tier candidates compete seriously. Competition breeds excellence.

The author displays significant understanding of Republican Party politics, social conservatism within the party, and the pro-life movement.

National Right to Life doesn't endorse just anyone, either. To get an endorsement from NRLC or any of its affiliate State or local chapters, they have to be satisfied that a candidate will do everything in their legal power to fight abortion.

I'm waiting for the hardcore pro-lifer/ban it now crowd to come in and say Fred isn't worthy of a vote because he supports abortion.

I say Fred is trying a different tactic. Top down, across the board ban isn't going to happen, and I think what Fred is trying fits in with NRL's definition of "everything in their legal power".

To paraphrase Billdo, it all depends on the meaning of the phrase "social conservatism".

The types of "socially conservative" issues that are controversial can better be described as "cultural conservatism"...and while the CCs are still a viable force within the party their pet issues are electoral baggage in the general election. That's been clear since Reagan.

This is very good news, however, we all know there are many people out there that no very little about Fred and his policies on Federalism as well as stand on Pro-Life. Fred has a lot of work to do and so do we. I was very proud to be a "FREDHEAD" yesterday, I am very proud to be a "FREDHEAD" today, and will be very proud to be a "FREDHEAD" until he gets to the White House.

God Bless this wonderful man for stepping up when WE THE PEOPLE asked him to come to the aid of his Country one more time.
