So, let's consider the party of death (abortion), same-sex marriage, higher taxes, bigger government, globalism (read UN taxation and control of the US), embryonic stem cell research (more murder), socialistic controls over the economy
Gee that what the GOP candidates our offering. It sounds more conservative and more palletable for conservative to swallow.
I've met many people who vote for Democrats without knowing about the opinions of those Democrats. I took a survey among about 75 people I knew, and almost all of them were in the navy, like I was. I asked which party they were, and I asked Democrats to tell at least one issue that caused them to be Democrats. 71% of the Democrats couldn't think of any issues with which they agree with the Democrat Party. Those Democrats said that they're Democrats because that's the party of their parents or spouse. Many of those Democrats said that they're pro-life, pro-capital punishment, and pro-welfare cuts. They were surprised when I told them that they agreed with Republicans.
I like to ask people to take the matchmaker quiz on www.3pc.net. It will ask for your opinions about 25 issues and tell how often you agree with seven parties. A Democrat I knew found that she agreed most with Republicans. Another Democrat I know found that she agrees most with the Constitution Party. Here are some of my results: Constitution and Libertarian, 88%; Republican, 84%; and Green, 12%. If more people take this quiz, many Democrats will find that they agree more with Republicans.
