It appears that Michael Steele may pull off a big surprise in Maryland (even a lot of Black Democrats are waking up to the realization that for all the voting influence they have in the party, they still can't get one of theirs the nomination. They might not agree 100% with Steele, but Steele has more of an incentive to pay attention to their issues than another White Democrat career politician (40 straight years in the legislature and Congress) from a district that hardly has any Blacks in it).

For Swann, it's a bit harder, and running against a ruthless incumbent is difficult under even the most ideal of circumstances. For Ken Blackwell, the RINOs in the state have done such a terrible job that even though he might as well be in a completely different party, anyone with an "R" after their name is going to be punished severely in Ohio this year.

I would definitely say folks like you are the people the Democrats fear the most, individuals who can think for themselves. They have to use fear, peer pressure, guilt, and any and all negative aspects to keep people of color voting for them. To them, the Blackwells, Swanns, and Steeles are the political leaders that can smash their monopoly on the non-White vote, and it's why you see them trying to throw everything including the kitchen sink at our candidates.

Once folks start to realize that placing all your eggs in one political basket (and in a rotten basket sporting a lot of holes), you're completely at the mercy of the whims of that party (and taken for granted), or worse, have no say whatsoever when your party is out of power.

Well..thanks. I 'm aready feeling the presure to switch to the Democrat Party ..but I'm holding steadfast due to I will not forget what happen to Sen. Liberman. As the saying goes "If you don't like a Jew you don't like a Black or Latino." I 'm considerated a sell-out..what more do I have to lose?

I even have recieved death threats...I'm tried of running...I am conservative first. I have been approached when I was 15 years old to groomed to be in office by the Democrats..but as soon as they started asking questions and I promptly answered them they knew I was a conservative.

I wish Conservative part of the GOP would make an effort to at least start recuiting candiates for office in college of any race , creed, and sex all levels of government.
